I don't see why people keep saying him "chasing" triple doubles is hurting the team.

For the life of me I don't see how give out assists and grabbing rebounds is hurting the team.

He is my favorite player in the league but what is hurting the team is his bad shot selection. Especially at the close of games, I've never seen a player take as many contested bad shots as him. Its not a knock against him but at some point you gotta start trusting players.

With that being said, I recently witnessed a triple crown in baseball, I'm ready to witness a triple double season

It's not just the triple doubles (it's his self-production style), but let's address the TD hunting real quick:

I. Prioritizing grabbing uncontested rebounds over sticking to defensive assignments and boxing out hurts team defense
II. His shoot/pass compass goes haywire when he forces the pass too much (typically in the 1st half in an attempt to bring up 10+ assists), or looks for his shot too much (typically in the 2nd half when he's brought up 10+ assists)
III. Focusing on looking to bring up stats instead of making the right play impacts teammates rhythm, offensive flow and makes offensive sets easier for defenses to defend

I mean the effects go much deeper than that, but that's the gist of it.
