People forget that in Ancient times black people were considered godlike among Greeks. Herodotus said in own words that Aethiopia, modern Sudan in Meroe is where he believed Zeus worshipped. He also said the men are taller and more handsome than anywhere else he traveled...no homo. Homer said gods go there to convene. They also said they were the most ancient people on Earth, basically designating the black man as the first man and the father of civilization.

they would be the same color, but viewed as entirely different nation

same reasoning behind african nations, capturing other black nations, and then trading them to europeans, arabs, and indians

most of the slaves captured in the trans-atlantic slave trade and sold into slavery were captured by their fellow tribesman of the same ethnic stock.

You are comparing apples to oranges...Ancient Egypt was a racially homogenous land inhabitated by black Africans similar the Menes....where as America is a country of immigrants of diferent races from all over the world but dominated by the decendents of Eueopean colonist....It would make much more sense to compare modern Egypt which has been transformed by European and Middle Eastern conquest to the United States and Ancient Egypt to pre European colonization America..

What exactly is a "Black-African"?

FYI, people who actually hail from the continent do not call themselves "Black-African".. we refer to ourselves by tribe or ethnicity..sometimes even clan

be more specific as to who these "Black-Africans" who resembled the Egyptians are?

that's what I notice about you afrocentricists is you use "black" and "african" as as umbrella terms to categorize large groups of people who have nothing in common with each other...rather than be specific as to who your talking about

Does the Dutch or a German man in Europe refer to himself as white in his own land?

Some tribal identities and language are relatively new, as in formed less than a thousand years ago. My parents are igbo and our first known existence as "igbo" was over a thousand years ago. Same with many other tribes like Yoruba, Wolof, Hausa or Fulani. So who were they before this time. They came from about people, just like everybody else. Clans branched off and moved often thousands of years ago, forming new languages and cultures as they settled.

I don't know, and don't care

Black and African are misnomers for those of us who come from the continent. Only lazy Afrocentrics and Eurocentrics who can't be bothered to learn the hundreds of ethnic groups on the continent use that.

nah

no thanks

I don't really care to discuss this issue on here

I wouldn't mind discussing it on a future podcast and I'll debate any and everyone in that format.

Lol @ some of the spurious nonsense in this thread. Ancient Egyptians being "black". People mutilating statues noses (here's a clue: noses are one of the most fragile parts of a statue + 5000 years = ???).

Do any of you study ancient history at a reputable higher learning institution?

If they were still around, they should still be speaking "Egyptian", something should have been preserved from their culture or language, but we don't see that among modern Egyptians.

There are still people speaking (a direct linguistic descendant of) ancient Egyptian. Look up the Copts, in particular their liturgical services.

excellent post!

people don't study or research

they watch a youtube video that confirms what they already believe (confirmation bias)

like that idiot fscballin who posted some "black egypt" youtube video as his proof and then proceeded to spam the thread with selective pictures

Lastly, I'm glad you brought up the Copts.

They are the closest to the Ancient Egyptians and are the direct descendents of them.

Not true. There is acutally no evidence to suggest that the Copts are the direct descendants, words are useless to me, lets see some academic peer reviewed evidence that is better than FSCballin's photo-evidence of Black Ancient Egyptians.

Post a refutation of Chiekh Anta Diop. Is there even an academic refutation of his findings?

Is this a real question? You can't be this dumb but i'll play along....black African = a negro race//people of color(whom can range in different hues but most of whom are some form of brown) idigenous to the continent of Africa..Ancient Egyptians fit that criteria..

....All that is irrelevant considering it's already undertsood that black Africans are black Africans whether they label themselves as such or not and the Ancient Egyptian did infact self proclaim themselve to be Kemites(blacks). ...What I noticed about you Eurocentric and their koon lackeys is that you only restrict and complicate what it means and whom is black when you want to whitewash or suppress the black origin of an historical black people whom achieved greatness....If Ancient Egyptians never built such as advanced civilization and lived in stereotypical poverty stricken rural African villages whitey would have no problem with them being black..Bottom line ...Ancient Egyptians would have drunk out the negro fountain and went to the colored restrom in the pre Civil Rights era in Amerikkka ..

I was very specific with whom the Ancient Egyptian were in my previous post...you need to read it again..

so you accuse him of cherry picking pictures but not fscballin?

fscballign examples were how the average Ancient Egyptians portrayed themselves/looked....Where as you obviously intentionally posted the whitest looking pics of alleged Ancient Egyptian(whom contrast greatly from and don't even look the same race as the average Ancient Egyptians) to back your obvious agenda....there really is no comparison.

but none of the major tribes/ethnic groups in West Africa were conquered by rival tribes.

that tribe vs tribe sh!t is a myth and there's really no proof to back it up

the closest your going to get to tribe vs tribe are:

1) Dahomey vs. Yoruba wars
2) Fulani vs. Yoruba wars

Everything else in West Africa was pretty much intra-tribal

I will provide more information later on tonight
