12 is the most unfamiliar. The gap between versions 10 and 11 is closer than the gap between 11 and 12. For instance adding plugins in FL studio 12 is a complete pain.

Cheers for the heads up. I guess coming from 7 would be a jump for any of the later editions. Ill be months away from attempting to install plug ins anyway. It's a bit of a novelty not having demo fl plugins and maximus at moment :heh:

Not reading all of this

I was talking about the interface. To me it was similar to FL... It still is similar to FL to me. I literally had no issue transferring from FL to Logic when I used them both
You're gonna go far if you don't want to even read a few lines about the differences between two of the most used tools in music.

Keep up the good work

i have FL 11 and 12, and my plugins work on 12, but FL 12 is janky on my mac, so i just make all my beats in FL 11 still and sample out whatever melodies i play on my demo plugins.

i can open the 11 joints in FL 12 if i really need to, but i just use FL 11 for everything and i love it

I got the beta version on my other laptop. About to download it now on my newer one and see wassup

All I could tell is that certain things are different or missing but nothing crazy.

Ill try it and post back in here later today probably after the gym

Aight!

Where you get that at for Mac though, when I do a search for it I get things like this, basically saying it´s not available or you have to hack your way into using it. I always had an interest for it and played around with it back in the days, but never on Mac.

Is there an official FL Studio program for Mac OS X / macOS? (Knowledge Base)

Thanks breh!

Seems like they are working on it and it is in Beta! Registered customers can try it out.

Started out on FL 7 because I couldn't afford a MPC. :ahh:

FL won the argument of whether it's can be professional or not.

But you learn bad habits in FL because the workflow is easy. It wasn't until I went on other platforms I start to learn and understand basic things like clipping and routing.

I'm a firm believer that if you swap an FL user with a diff. daw user, The diff daw user will have the better track.

Why couldn't you learn or understand basic things like clipping and routing in FL Studio, though?

When you are a beginner/self taught you don't know what to look for.

Like FL has (had?) a limiter on the master channel. So I'm clipping, but it doesn't sound as bad.

I move over to Reason and now it's sounds bad. I had to fix the bad habit in my workflow.

I don't have presets of the latest synths in Reason, so I have to route and layer on my own.

When you have limitations, it makes you work harder and learn new things.

What?

I think many people would disagree.

FL Studio: mainly used to make and arrange beats

Mac: all-in-one solution to make beats, record vocals in, mix down in used by the top of the top in the industry to create records - also boasts plugins from the leading hardware companies for a seriously professional sound (if the engineer's game is tight)

So the beat for N*ggas in Paris was made in FL Studio..

but then the tracks were individually recorded as audio in Logic (or ProTools) and then Kanye and Jay-Z recorded their vocals in that software and it got mixed either in the software or on the SSL mixing console.

This idea that that could all be done in FL Studio is ludicrous. It's great for making beats though and the producers mentioned did a great job to take it to the next level (except 9th Wonder. 1 snare wonder) but Logic is way more versatile.
