Quick brainstorm session: what should we do about all black towns in the south that are dying? How do we boost the economy? What do we sell?

Yall should just come over here to Cali so we can run everyone else out.

I wish
Last I remember they refused to sell that Crenshaw real state to that black group that got more than the asking price right? That completely solidified that all this talk about crime and respectability other groups give us is bullshyt. The jobs and tourism from that—outside dollars, national and international — would’ve helped and would be a good start to fix those problems. And they turned down well over the asking price just to give us the message that it’s all about ethnic cleansing us out of here

In order to fix certain issues, you have to fix the root issue. There are white towns that are as described by the OP. If there are white towns this country doesn't give a fukk about, then our black ones are even worse off. But in order to fix the inequality we face in our areas, inequality as a whole has to be worked on.

it’s sad as fukk that white people conditioned y’all to abandon black towns to move to a more economically place where whites are the majority. why not go back to supporting each other like we did when we were segregated? we were really thriving mainly because we knew and understood the assignment: all we had was each other. but if we did that, those pale skinned weirdos will do all they can to destroy our shyt like the snowflakes they really are.

It sounds like a good idea, but even if it were to be successful, over time here come the land speculators with big dollars and the notion of black owned is out the window. Either folks are going to sell or they will be run out.

Actually you just need people. and the issue is why bust ass in the heat when you can get an office job in Dallas?

Good look on getting women to stay out there.
Most of these small towns are majority women. They are on welfare or working minimum wage jobs. Men either leave for cdl jobs, military, or hustle.

Linking this thread to add to the discussion cause there were some good posts in there.

Back then I was still figuring things out, but 6 years later, the post below is where I’m at with it. All these economic ideas don’t mean squat if we don’t have political power.

Farming… can be one aspect but I think we should think bigger. Trade, commerce, tech, etc

I know people who have left here to go to Dallas to do the same ish they could be doing here.

You working a call center job in Dallas and could be doing the same ish in Monroe.

I don’t understand that philosophy.
Ok I’ll spell it out for you.

Forget call center jobs You’d need reliable infrastructure that can withstand storms so that doesn’t happen until there’s a tax base and people to support it.

So you’re talking farms ( also needs infrastructure but way less) and maybe tourism ( maybe)

So first of all you’d have to convince Men to do farmwork You could easily use government subsidies to get this going. There’s a program for Veterans to get into farming not to mention all the Dept of Agriculture help.

You give Black Farmers the money and support that they’re owed through the class action suits and you’re covered there.

But why can’t you get say ex cons or drug addicts out there?

Because the women would go to the cities

Even if a Man wanted to be an independent dirt farmer there would be a lack of women because of the economy of the United States being so great that you can get easier jobs in the city.

Not to mention that’s where the rich simps are.

For what you’re trying to do to work you’d have to have a code based religion or you’d have to do this in Africa or somewhere where there’s not a pleathora of work for even a poorly educated person.

If Someone lived in Eufala Alabama as a farmer, even being Top Flight security in a Mall in Montgomery is better than busting your ass in the heat.

Believe me I thought long and hard about this and I’ll do it but it won’t be in this country.

You can’t really do this in the states because of the lure of easier better paid jobs in the cities and the women in the cities.

I have aunt in Tennessee she had a good sized farm with cattle. I didn’t see her cows because she got rid of them by the time I came down. Her son is a Mechanic and her daughter is a Parole Officer. I don’t think either of them is doing anything with that land.

I just gave my cousin 100 bucks for groceries I told him to go and take over the farm and he won’t do it.

I can’t do it because I’m not really related to them.

If they are cute the broads tend to dip.

You need an economy for that. First you need farms and roads then you can build out from there.

Towns are small for a reason. Even if you wanted to farm it’s way easier to do it around 65 miles or so from a big city.

Farm to table is great for keeping money local, but it's also a very niche market. Poverty stricken fam aren't thinking their next meal is farm to table.

Any opportunities for ecotourism? Horseback rides, zip lines, etc. Bring that outside money into the town so people don't leave to chase money.

But the key to every economy and health is housing, housing, housing.

It’s a co dependant situation. white folks hate us but they love us. And we’re the same to them.

Black people generally want to be around white people because we don’t regulate ourselves.

The problem is no one respects the authority of Black Men they always go to a white dude to check Black Men.

Again all that shyt comes AFTER you build a viable economy.

No need to build out a strong electrical grid when there’s no tax base to support it. You’d have to have large farms before you could do anything else.

To be honest trying to create a Black utopia is best to do from majority Black cities. Starting from a small town would be hard.

Alabama has tornados and the Delta has floods. depending on the federal government to a help a majority Black area after a disaster well we see what happened during Katrina.

Wind and solar farms and nuclear energy facilities. Energy creation is critical for job creation and global competitiveness.
You need a way to store and distrubute that again y’all are thinking too big for some random small town.

Do this is PG county or Fulton county and use the available intrastructure already there.
