They were both in the moment movies.

Once you watched them, they ran out of the re-watch factor.

The film doesn't pose open ended questions like the great films do. There isn't a sense of conflict for example that what Thanos did was right within the heroes. They are uniformly stifled in believing justice only comes from them.

The second films shows the monolithic mindset of them all being cowards until Ant-Man shows up and makes it into a watchable part.

And then they add a time travel spectacle which was boring only for the whole thing to return them to their format of jokes over storytelling.

Compare that to a superhero movie like Spider-Man 2 which surpassed the superhero genre and was what we call a great film.

Infinity War was great...probably the greatest cinematic cliffhanger that I can recall. And the okie doke, making it the villains journey.

Endgame was just merely good.

Logan is probably the only great superhero film, imo. But Logan is not really a superhero film

Just the fact that they were able to throw in 30 main characters who had their own separate movies and everybody seemed to get their shine without being awkward makes these movies great films for me.

Great comic book movies.

Infinity War moved the needle, that transcended for sure. Not sure that makes it a great film.

Avengers is a saga it's a thing to watch basically a. Long story it doesn't have a lot of replay value but the execution of the films and the consistency of the entertainment value is tremendous and quite frankly can't be overlooked however these films are nuance in nature I always use Spider-Man 2 and X-men days of future past as what I call great comic book films intricate plots thought provoking content and ideas and well executed plot and superior acting

Still a top 3 Marvel film of all time :banderas:

A lot of Marvel movies these days are missing the moral dilemma side of things that made Spider-Man 2 such a great film and rely too much on the superpower aspect of things to carry the film.

On another note, I do wish that a lot of heroes didn’t return from the snap in Endgame to up the ante and show the casualties of war. It would have been a great plot point for future movies to deal with and show the moral aspect side of things in surviving the war, but losing comrades and fellow heroes in the process. Everything just essentially went back to normal for the Jose part.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Infinite War was better. Endgame will always be remembered for the last 28 minutes of the 3+ hour film which was fan service x 10.

Isn't that kinda what you wanted though..

Tony Stark and Black Widow died. Cap retired. Thor gave up his crown.

Fan service was kinda warranted. It was a goodbye and a thank you to the fans that supported the franchise day one.
