1) Nightmare on elm street ( I don't care what yall say Freddy is GOAT horror villain)
2) Hellraiser ( Pin head is the second GOAT)
3) Friday the 13 Pt 2 ( the introduction of Jason and his mask)
4) Phantasm ( Tall man is always underrated, and those metal spinning balls were dope)
5) Halloween ( Jamie lee curtis is the best teen in a horror ever brehs)
6) Nightmare on elm street- Dream Warriors ( I thought it was dope that the kids had mastered powers to fight freddy)
7) ginger snaps ( the scene where she transformes is DOPE)
8) kill list (I still think about the plot of this movie and try to figure things out)
9) martyrs ( left me feeling HOLLOW for days)
10) IT ( had to include Stephen King the GAWD)

HM: 28 days later......The wicker man......Jacobs Ladder

Damn good list and Jason finally shows up!!!

I guess i'm in the minority in that I did not like any of the Freddy sequels to the point where they were more than complete fukkery, even the 3rd one Dream Warriors...I thought it was stupid too, but entertaining like all the sequels...but the first one is so goddamn good its crazy...Craven never made a movie better than Nightmare on Elm Street Pt. 1...not even close.

Finally saw Suspiria (I know, I know):whoa: The music and visualz: A Horror Operatic Masterpiece:wow: Cuz, honestly the plot is a bit flimsy:usure: However, this the rare occasions:ld:, when a score/cinematography alone makes the viewing experience worthwhile:banderas: Nice to see my Demon Knights picking up steam:jawalrus: Billy Zane deserved a bloody Oscar for his demonic portrayal:birdman: I feel there's no dull moments:yeshrug:, unlike Bordello of Blood:dahell:

If you watch Italian horror movies and focus on the cinematography, music, color usage, etc. they're incredible. Most of them don't make a lick of sense though, but it is what it is.

As far as "Demon Knight", back in the day me and my people (guys I've known 25-30 years now) would just pick a movie randomly to go check out. So we're at the mall in '95 or whatever year it came out and see "Demon Knight" I'm like :stopitslime:we all went in with zero expectations.

And that shyt blew me away. It's legitimately a great movie. We were in there like 6-7 deep watching, kinda like :ld: until this scene:

Then my whole row stood up like:

Good/trippy visuals are what makes the best horror movies imo.

This isn't my favorite genre, because not that any movies really scare me. I like ones that do, they're just rare and a lot of non scary horror movies or ones that make fun of their cliches I don't really like (Cabin in the Woods for example) These are the ones I really like though.

My top 10:

1.The Shining
2.Videodrome (This is loosely horror, but still horror enough to me)
3.The Thing (1982)
4.Creepshow
5.Cape Fear (Original, but remake is good too)
6.Rosemary's Baby
7.The Fly
8.Dracula 92, visuals are crack
9.The Conjuring :yeshrug:
10. When A Stranger Calls Back, first 15 min are fukking crazy

I don't think of Hitchcock as horror. Psycho, Frenzy, and maybe Shadow of a Doubt are the only ones I've seen that might qualify.

Prime Stephen King was :wow:. Idk if you remember the short story "The Boogeyman", but that scared the hell out of me as a kid. "The Raft" was simple, but dope.

:patrice: interesting on the shadow of a doubt

i consider it a thriller..along with the other 2 you listed

didn't know the coli had so many horror nuts almost 30 pages

Saw My Bloody Valentine 3D remake, and was pleasantly surprised at the bloody gore kill scenes :jawalrus:

...reminded me of Laid To Rest, where the diabolical killer was gutting people up with no fukks given:whew:

Scream:ld:

...Swamp Thing People Under The Stairs, Wishmaster, The Hill Have Eyes are personal faves too:yeshrug:

@darealvelle, Bordello of Blood was campy whorror (Crypt Keeper thought a 90s kid about snarky puns:youngsabo:) fun, but it's that prick Dennis Miller why I don't care much for it:ehh:

Another great thing about Demon Night was its Soundtrack: Filter's Hey Man Nice Shot & Grave Diggaz 1800 Suicide made the cypher complete:ahh:

All of those good movies except Wishmaster which was terrible, but Nightmare on Elm Street sits on a mountain all by itself...it was perfect all around

I might consider it horror because of Uncle Charlie. He was treated like a :demonic: more than most Hitchcock villains.

This scene in the beginning with him coming in on the train with all the smoke and him resting in bed all the time made him seem like a demon. There's also a scene at the dinner table where the shadows behind him make him look like he has wings. Great character.

Just saw both of these for the first time this week. Both were decent to me, not as good the best episodes of the TV show though. The head vampire in Bordello was sexy though.

Rewatched Fright Night 2011. Call it blasphemy or whatever, but Colin Farrel makes me like this one a bit more than the og. Jerry da vamp Gawd.

Jerry: We need to talk about this or I'm calling the cops. :comeon:

Mom: Call the police then. :birdman::camby:

*Jerry walks around the house*

Everyone: :dahell: What's he doing?

Jerry: :ufdup:Don't need an invitation if there isn't a house. :shaq:

Colin is classic in this shyt.

Thought I was the only one. If people gave that flick a chance as opposed to just typical "remake blah blah" they'd see it's a nice little horror/comedy flick. And Colin is awesome on it, great bad guy. And I couldn't get into the original. I saw the original first and didn't see what all the fuss was about, but I really messed with this one.

I tried watching The Town that Dreaded Sundown last night on Netflix...I could not get with it at all. The comedy relief of the cops was just too jarring for me tonally
