I agree with you. I don’t see the positive of this pick….multiple surgeries , and he’s already 24. By the time Kirk is done here he will be 28.

“win now!” but you draft a QB you’re stashing to be your QB of the future. Cousins is essentially on a 3 year deal. Penix will be on a 5 year deal. He may not hit the field legitimately until his 4th season

“we only draft BPA!” Yet we took the 4th QB off the board…the Falcons are LYING if they say Penix was the BPA at #8, let alone best QB

But youre right, we should be used to the Falcons doing dumb shyt and now Cousins is confused. Just an awful all around night for this franchise

I’d rather have penix as a backup plan than trubiski or some other non impactful QB.



Jordan Love didn’t get any real burn till he was 24/25 & we see how that turned out. Idk why folks are bringing up his age like he’s sitting behind a young QB.

We coulda got a mid 1st round QB next year, or year 2 of the Cousins deal, because that is pretty much our floor if Cousins plays. We won’t see a top 10 pick and we just spent one on an older qb with an injury history.

Love’s a really good young QB but the Packers are a better run franchise than us. The Packers had a history of drafting QBs and stashing them successfully like Aaron Rodgers under Brett Favre. Do you really trust this franchise to get it right? I don’t

We came into this offseason off 2 of the worst seasons of QB play for this franchise this millennium

We're leaving out of the offseason securing at least solid QB play every season for the next 10 years

No rookie learning curve this season
QB stepping on the field in his prime 2 years from now
He plays like he's supposed to and we will have a top 10 QB we probably don't have to pay top 10 money to(he's not getting the same as/more than Stroud/Caleb/etc. when it's time to re-up when he's 3 years older than them)
We would be bytching about whatever edge we took at 8 dropping into coverage all the time due to the scheme anyway
