Those guys all used steroids. We talking bout how to build muscle naturally. Taking advice from steroid users is why the fitness industry is so fukked up and most people never get any results following their guidance.

You could sit at home in front of the TV eating pizza and if you're on steroids, you'll build more muscle than a guy who is natural and busting his ass in the gym everyday. Steroids are a cheat code and trying to get advice on building muscle from anybody who takes them is a waste of time.

There is a reason you never see guys who do calisthenics having that roided up look a lot of body builders have. Its not because calisthenics is inferior to weight lifting when it comes to building muscle. Its because most of the guys lifting weights are using steroids and its the steroids that is giving them those unnatural results.

Steroids work by making people able to recover and gain rapidly, which enables them to perform at a substantially higher level than normal, which leads to even greater results. You gotta put in work to get the most out of steroids, else you're wasting cycles.

What happens if someone does calisthenics and takes steroids?
Same thing that happens if you lift weights on steroids, except with less strength and mass gains. Steroids augment your body with any physical activity that requires recovery

Obviously if you take steroids and work out you'll get better results than someone who doesn't work out and takes steroids. What I focused on specifically was the fact that someone who takes steroids and DOES NOT work out will still build more muscle than someone who is natural and works out. Here is the scientific data backing up my point: Steroids vs Natural: The Muscle Building Effects Of Steroid Use

This 10 week study took a group of 43 men of normal body weight between the ages of 19 and 40 who all had some degree of weight training experience. These men were then split up into 4 different groups:

  • Group 1 did NOT do any form of exercise, and did NOT receive any form of steroids or drugs. (Natural guys doing no weight training.)
  • Group 2 did NOT do any form of exercise, but they received weekly injections of 600 mg of testosterone enanthate. (Drug users doing no weight training.)
  • Group 3 DID exercise, but they did NOT receive any form of steroids or drugs. (Natural guys doing weight training.)
  • Group 4 DID exercise, and they also received weekly injections of 600 mg of testosterone enanthate. (Drug users doing weight training.)
All of their diets (calorie intake, protein intake, nutrient intake, etc.) were standardized according to each person’s body weight, recorded, verified and adjusted when needed. The 2 groups who WERE weight training (groups 3 and 4) followed the same supervised workouts each week.

Meaning, with the exception of the fact that some groups were or were not weight training, and some were or were not using drugs… everything else (diet and training) was equal and even.

The Results
So… guess what happened?

  • Group 1 (no exercise, natural) experienced no significant changes. No surprise there.
  • Group 2 (no exercise, drug use) was able to build about 7 pounds of muscle. That’s not a typo. The group receiving testosterone injections and NOT working out at all gained 7 pounds of muscle.
  • Group 3 (exercise, natural) was able to build about 4 pounds of muscle.
  • Group 4 (exercise, drug use) was able to build about 13 pounds of muscle.

So you see. Just sitting on your ass in front of the TV and taking steroids gives you nearly 2x the muscle gains of someone who is natural and works out. Steroids are the ultimate cheat code when it comes to building muscle which is why its a waste of time for anyone who is natural to take fitness advice from someone on steroids. That person could literally do anything and still build more muscle than somebody who is natural.

It’s ok. I understand it is easy to make the steroid bodybuilding connection when you aren’t educated about this topic and haven’t done the research. It was actually Olympic weight lifters, strength trainers and power lifters than started the steroid usage after the 40s. After seeing results from these potent substances than bodybuilders followed after late 50s and early 60s. So you could argue that it was the people around the calisthenics arena that started steroid usage not bodybuilders.

You are naive to think that your calisthenics heroes aren’t using steroids; many people in cross fit have been busted for steroid usage. Those calisthenics heroes and heroes you post here on youtube would all test positive for steroids, it’s that prevalent. Only naïve child would think those who make a living from their bodies aren’t using steroids, people in jail, social gyms and even CEOs use steroids, usually different amounts and substances.

Two natural guys produce 100mg of Testosterone week; the one that does hypertrophy/bodybuilding training will be bigger and stronger.

Two steroid users using 500mg of Test E a week, the one that does hypertrophy/bodybuilding training will be bigger and stronger.

Natural or unnatural hypertrophy/bodybuilding is superior.

If hippe vegan based calisthenics was better at building bigger muscles and making you stronger than the whole world would be on it. Is the whole world blind? Has decades of trial and error and human experience has been wrong. Everyone has it wrong but the new age guru hippe calisthenics.:mjlol:

If you take steroids, you don't even need to work out to gain more muscle than someone who is natural and trains.

This is why listening to what a steroid user does is a waste of time. They can do anything and gain more muscle than someone who is natural.

Change your routine

It's more so the whole act of it. I really don't care about how much I can move heavy objects. I been lifting weights on and off since I was 15. I'm just kinda over it.

Calisthenics is a lot more fun and challenging. Testing your balance, resistance and strength... Upside down pushups, horizontal pushups, swinging around poles (pause), and just being overall leaner and lighter. Idk, I just find calisthenics way more appealing, useful and beneficial.
