I'm gonna be honest, this is beginning to concern me. I've heard no real progress on his development.
I don't see how he is much more than a possession guy. Hell, Keyshawn was considered a possession guy and he produced much more than CrabTHREE does.
He is not a big impact player, he isn't a #1 WR that is for damn sure.
The more and more he sits out, the more Alex develops chemistry with Manningham, Moss and Williams. I hope Crabthree becomes the guy we're paying him to be and he stays here for years, but I just don't see nay of that happening.
He just isn't that talented. He probably is just another case of the stud college WR not being as great because there is no press coverage in college and he played in an air it out system.
We're going to have to pay more important people in 2013, i`d hate to see us waste any dough on CrabTHREE if he doesn't have a monster year.
Bowman's contract is up and he has to be our #1 priority. Along with getting Goldson a deal.
Good news today, CRabthree's on the practice field. Stay healthy motherfukker.
Edit: Reports seem like he isn't practicing, just working with the strength and conditioning coach

A. Smith over or under 3500 yards this year? I see him at right around 3500 if they open things up like they did towards the end of the year. I see moss at about 1000 with about 8-10 tds. crabtree at about 800 with about 5-7 tds same with vernon, and I see manningham at about 400 yds or so. What y'all think?
All I got to say is... this thread is more informative than the official niners forum. I think ima stick around if that's aiight wit y'all.

He just didn't participate in the contact drills, which is smart since he's coming off a calf strain. If this was the season, I think he'd suit up and play on Sunday.
By all accounts, everything coming out of camp this year from everybody is that Crabtree had an excellent spring/summer. I don't know what you have against Crabtree, but I think he's more than a possession receiver. Like I've pointed out, he's made plays when we needed him to. He was the only reliable receiver last year, and you can throw Vernon into that mix, too. People forget that there were times last season when Vernon disappeared, but all everybody remembers is the playoffs. People are remember a bad game and a half and thinking that that's all Crabtree was about. People forget the big catches he had in crucial situations last year.
At any rate (I don't wanna turn this into a Crabtree thread), I think Crabtree will be fine. He should get some time in the preseason games this year and be fine. I think the new receivers need to build chemistry with Alex more than Crabtree does. If Jim isn't worried, we shouldn't be.
