oh no doubt I obviously know cohn is a pos but this is a new low even for him

he basically just blatantly admitted that he cares about his coverage more than he does about the 49ers and openly whined about lack of shyt said by a coach whose job is to coach players, not say stupid things to the media.

not only that he basically admitted to own ineptitude in reporting

the nerve of that phaggit acting like hes got a right to hear a crazy interview every time.

harbs gets major props for ignoring the media and its funny how he slowly is becoming hated, just like barry bonds was before the roids thing showed up, just because he doesnt give media shyt to write about

Yeah, I have no problem with what Harbaugh is doing either. Does the media need to see every God damn play of practice?

Then you see his fakkit son writing an article about how Jenkins ran the wrong route, come on man. That little piece of shyt kid is the reason why the media doesn't need 100% access.

It seems like a practice was move further away from the media, but there was a time when the media was closer. As far as i`m concerned I could care less about the media vantage point of practice, only thing Harbaugh does owe them is the interviews, and he gives those when he is at the podium.

Colin Kaepernick not seen as the heir apparent, i've had the same feeling

Q&A with CSNBayArea

49ers Mailbag: Kaepernick slated as long-term insurance

The 49ers' practice Thursday is scheduled for 2:30 to 5:10 p.m. With a little time to kill, let's dig into the 49ers Mailbag . . .

Q: What's Kaepernick's status. Is he still seen as the heir apparent? (Tim Gould)
Colin Kaepernick is signed for three more seasons. Of course, Alex Smith signed a three-year contract to return to the 49ers in the offseason.

Things can change quickly. After all, Smith's deal is really structured in a way that it's a series of one-year contracts. But Kaepernick will never get a chance to play for the 49ers if Smith plays well and remains healthy.

Through the first five practices of training camp, Smith has shown to be clearly better than the other three quarterbacks who are scrambling for their roles this season.

So is Kaepernick seen as the heir apparent? No, he's seen as the 49ers' backup quarterback and insurance policy for the next three seasons.

And he'll even have to earn the right to hold onto that spot over Josh Johnson, the former Tampa Bay No. 2 who will get a chance to unseat Kaepernick during camp this summer.

Q: With Tony Jerod-Eddie looking good and almost a PS squad lock and with Demarcus Dobbs looking good as a D-Lineman and showing versatility as a tight end, is Ian Williams a guy who will have a tough time making the team? (Patrick Jira)

Whoa, there. While I appreciate your enthusiasm as it pertains to Tony Jerod-Eddie, the undrafted defensive tackle from Texas A&M is certainly not a "lock" for the practice squad. He certainly has a good opportunity to stick around this season, but he also has lot of work to do to get to that point.

Demarcus Dobbs is looking good at tight end, so there is a legitimate chance that the 49ers keep two true tight ends on the roster (Vernon Davis and Delanie Walker) in addition to Dobbs. Then, the team would also keep a tight end for the practice squad.

The 49ers kept seven defensive linemen their 53-man roster at the start of last season because they thought they had some talent and did not want to give up on Will Tukuafu, Dobbs or Williams.

I expect the 49ers to keep six defensive linemen this season. They can only have one true nose tackle on the roster. That's Isaac Sopoaga. All the backups must be able to play every spot.

Williams has practice-squad eligibility because he suited up for only one regular-season game last year. As everything stands right now, I anticipate they'll try to bring him back to the practice squad.

Q: Who do you predict being the RG starter come week 1? (Danny Esparza)

Alex Boone.

Leonard Davis would have to be clearly better than Boone to win this job. After all, Boone is 25 years old, he's on the up-swing, and he is signed through the 2015 season.
Boone has gotten off to a good start, and he is definitely fired up to get this opportunity be a starter for the first time in his career.

Q: Why is Mario Manningham being so overlooked this offseason? Wasn't he a sneaky good pick up? (Alex Sawyer)

Whenever I write or talk about the 49ers' receivers, I mention Mario Manningham, along with Michael Crabtree and Randy Moss, as the team's top three receivers.

Yes, Manningham was a very good pickup for the investment. He signed a two-year contract, and he is a starter-quality receiver. I'd expect Manningham to hold down the job as the No. 3 wideout, while also rotating into games as one of the top two guys on occasion.

It's because of Manningham that I don't see how rookie A.J. Jenkins can make much of an impact as a rookie. Jenkins has neither been outstanding or bad. And, as expected, he does not appear ready to challenge Manningham, Crabtree or Moss for a spot within the team's top three.

Kyle Williams impressing at camp, i`m telling yall, Ginn is probably in trouble here.

San Francisco 49ers' Kyle Williams has teammates' support as he impresses at camp - San Jose Mercury News

Snippets

-"To some degree, sometimes you think about it and it's weird: They genuinely do have my back on this," Williams, a third-year receiver, said. "It's really been a treat to have those guys there."- KW on his teammates.

-There's a different type of feeling when you get knocked on your ass like I did," Williams said. "It all went bad. When the worst possible thing happens, and that pain you're dealing with, it burns in you. It eats away at you...It's a different type of intensity that can't be described unless you go through it. Guys have gone through it in different walks of life and in different ways, and I guess that was mine." - KW about the playoff loss and fumbles

u also said that KW won't be returning punts this year. if ginn is in trouble and gets cut like u say, kyle becomes the #1 return man.

so which one is it?

That's not exactly how it works, LeMichael James returned punts in college too.

I just don't see the 49ers keeping Ginn just for punts, I said I don't want to see KW returning punts, not yet, but I have a feeling he will be returning them.

Harbaugh isn't gonna kill the kid if he makes the team, he's gonna build him up, if we know anything about Harbaugh that is what he does best

My breakdown of why Ginn will be gone.

Moss
Manningham
Crabtree
Jenkins

Those are you 4 who have zero chance of being cut.

The only possible way Ginn stays is if they keep 6, so my whole thing is KW is going to make it one way or the other. I keep KW over Ginn because he is younger with much more of an upside and this is Ginn's last year on contract I believe.

If they only keep 5, only way I see Ginn returning is if someone besides KW goes, maybe CrabTHREE in a trade, but there's practically zero chance of that happening.

LMJ is definitely capable of returning punts but harbs himself said that he isn't ready to handle punts in game situations yet. i could definitely see the niners keeping ginn for just punts, at least for this year. like i said before- kyle and LMJ are being groomed to be punt returners for the future.

the most likely scenario is that we'll keep 6 WRs so that we won't be forced to have someone with little experience fielding punts. after how the NFC title game ended, i really don't see how ginn gets cut.

as far as Kap goes, we won't get a definite answer to who's the QB of the future until a couple more years at least.

he could be getting the aaron rodgers treatment for all we know- sit on the bench and soak up the system for 3 years then take over the 4th year. it depends on if he can challenge and beat alex for the #1 spot. right now he ain't ready, but we'll see in 2 years.

Ehh maybe, but one thing I learned about Harbaugh is that he is all about versatility.

Just look at Demarcus Dobbs playing TE in practice. It's the reason he let Blake Costanzo walk, a beast on ST, but that's all he was.

I think Ginn fits into that category, a beast on ST, but that's all.

That's just my feeling, could be wrong.

Yeah, it just seems a lot of people thought maybe we were ready to dump Alex with that deal after this year.

I don't think that's going to be likely, I think Alex is gaining a lot of confidence and really he`ll only get better under Harbaugh.

Maybe if Alex stays improving we can trick some team like the Eagles did with Kolb.

ur right about it being about versatility, but there's a huge difference between playing coverage on ST like constanzo and returning kicks like ginn. if ginn played in the title game, we would've been in the super bowl. period.

as one-dimensional as ginn might be, he's a game changer. constanzo isn't.

Alright man, you think Harbaugh is as emotional as a fan is? I think he works with a little more tact than that.

I`m not saying for sure, but if we only keep 5 Ginn isn't one of them.
