Do that there’s a channel called Ken’s Money Matters It’s Kenya focused but as you know most Kenyan banks are all over the region.

The reason why the shilling is so cheap is because they don’t have much of the hard currency to buy shyt they need abroad so throw some coins into the bank.

I forgot what they called what we call in the states a Money market accouht but the difference between that and savings account is that you can only do a few non penalty withdrawals a month or even a quarter go to all the banks and see which one gives you the best deal

Do the same in Canada call around and see which one gives you the best interest rate on your money in Canada.

Depending on how much you trust your wife you could give her some racks to hold in her account and if something goes wrong there’s her settlement so she’s not on her ass if one of you decides to bush the other.

We have a bank account at I&m but will check around

That’s 189 USD. I don’t know if that’s good or bad but I do know in Nai I got me and my girl and several of her cousins cleaning done for 40 bucks.

I’d prefer if it weren’t near to the slaughter house but it was ok. The dentist did a good job and thats ridiculously cheap by US standards.

I paid 500 for my last crown but that was with insurance covering half of it

You could’ve stopped at Mzungus. Mzungus generally live in weathy areas no Bodas and no Matatus means high end.

Barely any bodas in Entebbe

But alot of mzungus you'll see an old mzungu walking with a 20 year old female or even some with mixed kids

Curious to know for those who have experience in Africa think about this? Have read articles before stating property rights ( or the lack thereof ) is a big issue and those coming from abroad with mature property right institutions may encounter problems

Property Rights and African Poverty

Africa is not doomed to poverty, but it must improve its property rights institutions.

The quest for secure property rights in Africa

Handing out title deeds is not enough

I haven’t read the links but absolutely You can go to the right people to get land and if they decide to fukk you there’s nothing you can do.

Then there’s tribal land and rules against enclosures meaning locals have water and grazing rights and they can even pass through your land legally without it being considered trespassing.

Land rights are based on the UK not america so you can’t “gentrify”. it especially not rural or even suburban land.

One reason why I lived near a middle class area is because there would be a gang of cows on the main road. The cows were released to graze ( no feeding cows soybeans and corn in Africa) the downside of that grass fed beef is that they were allowed to roam and eat garbage and drink water in the open sewers so that kinda made me leery of eating red meat in Africa.

Turns out I lived near to Tribal land so the cows had grazing rights some how the cows never caused a traffic jam I guess it was what time they hit the streets. I was also surprised that no one rustled them.

If I were gonna buy in Africa as much as I want a mansion in the country I wouldn’t risk it Condos in upper class communities where the owners of the complex spread enough money around and theres enough promient renters and owners to not get conned in fake land titles.

That’s expected. If you want non wenches you have to go after the ginormous assed ones that the Black Man covets.

Again even in Nai dudes went loco for Lake Victoria Luos.

Those monkeys are a$$holes. I was in Kenya for 3 months. They would come around and seal our food.
:skip:
Come to find out, baboons would eat them. We didn't have baboons in out camp though. We saw them half a mile out everyday though. I guess the locals kept them out our camp.
:ohhh:
Yes those little monkeys are everywhere. People think that Monkeys are everywhere in Africa I didn’t see them other than in the wooded areas but in Mombasa they were all over.

I could just not be in the right environments but I don’t hear about brothers with that type of ambition… “let’s build X industry. This country has X resources. We can make connections with X politicians for this deal”

Most brehs… are just looking to be comfortable and chill… definitely the vibe in this thread

Without that ambition, not sure how these places can become first world… :lupe:
Coli brehs ain't ready.

If there were a few hundred brehs on our time, we could lock in on one black English speaking country. Buy real estate, encourage black investment and entrepreneurship there... Even non black investment as long as the terms weren't abusive. Send teachers...

We may not see change until 25 years from now, but it's a step. Eventually, maybe after we're gone there would be a first world caliber black country on this earth.

Everytime i see a complaint about a new build I think of this sketch from 2001.

Yep gotta check leaks and cracks better have a structural engineer look at the place in the 3rd world there’s no coding laws ( that are followed) out there.

But even in the west don’t be surprised if someone attempts to build a majority plastic house.

Yes, have heard it said this is one of the biggest, think about that, factors holding africa back and it is largely overlooked. What seems simple, property rights, is anything but in many parts of Africa.

Owning property and land is on the 1st scale of investments and if that is shaky, it affects everything after.

There’s really no local jobs other than engineering or medical ones and those don’t pay enough to be worth it. Doctor’s are striking in Kenya again.

Yeah the job market sucks here
Thankfully I work remote

But literally I make more in a day than someone working here on average makes in a month

We have a cleaner guy who comes about 3 days a week and he mops the whole house and sweeps and does dishes Nd laundry.

We pay him 20,000 each time he comes it's like 7 dollar

A live in housekeeper is making like 200k a month

Realest comment in this thread
Much better to stay in your country on your knees with the white boys boot on your neck.

I’m not advocating that ADOS brehs drop everything and move to Africa but all these immigrants y’all worried about buying up the block and buying all the stores did it by leaving.
Someone wrote a book called Blue Dreams about Korean Liquor store owners in South LA in the wake of the riots, Turns out those people were lawyers and such who left for political reasons saw the old jews move out of the businesses and saw that Liquor stores made massive profits pooled their money together and bought liquor stores.

Again don’t drop everything to move but @MikelArteta could literally save up 6 months of passive income and open a liquor store easy or he could buy a house then use the money to cop several condos for the mzungus who come to work on short contracts unfortunately they’d trust a Canadian over an Ugandan

He could totally blow up and he’s married his wife can’t divorce rape him and take half walking out the door.

This thread is gold for brehs with a toenail out of the door and brehs who travel overseas instead of making your fifth trip to expensive ass Italy check out Uganda.

That’s what I’m saying economically it doesn’t make sense for me to live in the states everything is so expensive I could stack bread in a low interest rate checking account in the states and still live lovely.

The wild thing is if you make more than 55K but less than 100K with taxes and no house at best you may save maybe 5K if your lucky a year, You do the bougie thing and eat out 5 nights a week grab brunch on the weekend, eat at restaurants for lunch drive a late model car and pay for parking and stay looking clean you’ll be in debt or paycheck to paycheck.

You live like that in the DR and you’ll struggle to spend 20K a year you could bank the rest of that money and be financially set in the states in a couple of years.
