Obama was nothing more than a symbol to me i can't take away the look my elders who went thru Jim crow had in their eyes when he first got sworn in, but outside of that he was the last of the professional politician era at best and at worst he peddled the same bullshyt under a black face.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
How the fukk is this Obamas fault :dead:

The Obama coalition didn’t evaporate because of his shortcomings.. it disappeared because he’s a generational politician.

In 2016 the DNC did everything in their power to place Hillary in that spot ..Bernie had the juice to get there and pull together an Obama like coalition… but the DNC was literally rigging debates

In 2020 they formed like Voltron to slow Bernie down just to give us Biden

You know what kills the youth vote and enthusiasm on the left ? shyt like that

Now in 2024 the youth vote was a damn struggle

That’s not on Obama that’s the Democratic Party
Obama was one of the ring leaders stopping Bernie :mjlol:

Why are people still talking about bailing out big business like there was a choice...

do you think middle/lower class would have done better if they let the largest financial institutions in the nation fall?

like... do yall not realize there wasn't a choice?...we would have felt the impact worse than rich families with assets and savings..

It's white people's fault, plain and simple. White men, white WOMEN, white Latinos, etc. America has always been and will always be a racist, sexist, xenophobic, narcissistic, arrogant, and greedy country. It was founded on it and will continue to be that way. Trump represents that, so that's why they voted for him.

LeBron James and the Bucks stood up against racism, showing how important athletes can be in fighting for change. Barack Obama supported them to help raise awareness, not just to focus on basketball. But you know this already - bot.
I also recall Kyrie telling folks that the bubble didn’t need to happen because there were bigger issues at hand but you know, someone had to get a ring

That's always been a problem, even when Obama won 2x. This nikka didn't change shyt and it caused a racist backlash. What the fukk was Kamala even running on that matters for the average person? She said most of her best policies on the low and bragged about unpopular Republicans supporting her

2008: Obama runs on massive change, has insane wins, has the house and a senate super majority

Runs business as usual and bailed out big business.

2010: Loses midterms, gets shellacked. Signs in the ACA, which is better than before but is still a corporate giveaway

2012: Makes some ground back but again, nothing fundamentally changes

2016: We could've had the Biden vs Bernie primary and Obama makes the call for Joe to step down to make Hillary the candidate.

2020: When it looks like Bernie is pulling ahead Obama makes the call for every other Dem to drop out and endorse a Biden who was already showing signs of his brain missing.

2024: Lectures black men about misogyny while the black male vote is the same.

Now we are at his vice presidents vice president taking a historic L because the Obama coalition fell apart chasing corporate interests over policies that truly help people. Since he has left office he just shows up every 4 years to fukk up the bag and then makes millions on movie production. Yes you can go back to Clinton as well for starting triangulation but damn this nikka had so much momentum and we are living in the shadows of his failures to meet the moment.
Nice timeline but you left a critical moment in the Obama/Trump saga

2011: Obama roasts Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner which infuriates Trump. This is the moment Trump decided to run for president. 🤣
