Retire the #9 in Philly in due time

Yahoo is now part of Oath

Now with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Foles spent a few minutes with NBC Sports Philadelphia reporter Derrick Gunn on Tuesday.

Gunn asked Foles why he’s opted to wear No. 7 with the Jaguars instead of No. 9, which he wore in both of his stints with the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Number 9 stays in Philadelphia,” Foles told Gunn. “That number means a lot to me. It pertains to that city.”

It’s the number Foles was wearing when he stepped in for the injured Carson Wentz late in the 2017 season and helped lead the Eagles to their first-ever Super Bowl championship, over the New England Patriots.

Foles has not previously worn No. 7 during his NFL career.

Is this Jadeveon Clowney to the Eagles thing a possibility ? :jbhmm: or just some bullshyt?

That rumor still has legs?? I thought it was deaded weeks ago.

Maybe Howie is on his shyt, but I don't see how we pull it off. But Howie is a magician... THE magician. So maybe?

I fully expect him to be moved, but not to Philly. Would be nice to further stack the DL though.

I highly doubt it.

Eagles would have to give up at least a 1st for him, and then pay him something in the neighborhood of what Khalil Mack, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Aaron Donald are getting… and the while getting ready for Wentz to starting making $32m a year. Edge isn’t a position of dire need, either, when you have Graham, Curry, Barnett, and some promising developmental guys in Sweat and Hall.

Not to say that I wouldn’t be absolutely thrilled if they were able to somehow make it happen, though. You’d have an elite DT in Cox, two elite DEs in Graham and Clowney, and a very promising up-and-comer in Barnett. And then starting-quality linemen like Jackson, Curry, and Jernigan right after them. The D-Line would be ridiculous.

I think we're always linked cause Howie gets the deals done in trades

But the rumour is that the Texans want to move him and we got attached to it

Unless the Texans accept a deal with Big V/Nelly and like a 2nd round pick. I doubt we go past of calling the Texans to see what's up

I forgot about Nelly's nine million dollar self. I thought we wouldn't have the chips to pull it off cause I heard it was Big V's name and a first round pick would get it done.

Not willing to part with a first rounder. And U gotta be retarded to deal a first rounder to them when Clowney is holding out and everyone knows the Texans are looking to unload him.

and Big V is meh eventhough the Texans need O Line help.

But I think u are right, Nelly, Big V and Second Rounder would be a bit enticing and I wouldn't be upset. Hell I would throw Sweat in there to sweeten the pot.

Just imagine a rotation of Clowney, Graham, Barnett and Curry :banderas:.

Only concern is the slot receiver spot but I think Arcega Whiteside could hold it down.

But Fukk that, I dont want to resign that guy for 20 mill per season after the season is over.. c00nboys fukked up the market with that DeMarcus Lawrence contract.

I think its dead, how are we paying him this year and in the future?

I also read he isnt the best lockerroom guy. I rather they trade for Yannick Ngokue, cant believe that cat fell to the 3rd round :snoop:
