I advise everyone read up on President Tolbert. If you read between the lines you will see why everything that happened in Liberia happened. When liberia didnt stand with israel when they got into it with egypt, to their "non aligned" stance, to bringing equal access to resources and opportunities to indignenous groups, etc. Im telling yall Tolbert was going make Liberia the Black Holy Land.

The issue with Liberia is America was simply too intertwined with how that country was run. Liberia was not founded by radical former slaves, it was founded by blacks who America approved of and continued a relationship to ensure Americas best interest went on. Liberia is not a haiti where they bucked and got black balled, Liberia was literally an extension of America where blacks were allowed to create a Black Elite class that would run the show. The Church, Free Masonary,etc all things that were major pillars in Americas black elite class are the pillars of Liberias foundation.

That said Liberia did produce some brilliant minds such as William blyden, but people like him were more so purely academic types.

Honestly, African Americans should be given land in Africa. We would honestly do a better job.

The last time African Americans got land in Africa they colonized the country, enslaved the people, and committed small-scale ethnic-cleansings while establishing a brutal hierarchy placing AAs at the top, and the native peoples at the bottom.
They essentially created Liberia's instability, by selling out the natural resources to Whites for pennies on the dollar, and disenfranchising the people that live there.
