When I win I bring we with me
True but whatever the reasons were it still ultimately failed and I think that turns away a lot of already "scared of Africa" diaspora blacks....
Failed how?
1. the people are still there
2. The laws and constitution they made still serves as the bases of the country
3. etc. etc. etc.

Did the U.S. "fail" because they had a civil war?
Did the U.S. "fail" because Obama was elected into office?
What are the criteria by which you assess this failure? :ld::hubie:

No lies were said

My observation then becomes all of this is still happening under successive leadership... so the question then becomes what are the dynamics of Liberia that would cause this to continually occur.:jbhmm:
Liberia is a VERY Complicated beast honestly. Most if not every leader was in the pocket of an outside power so you have to take their actions with a grain of salt.

The US took out Tolbert who wanted to make liberia a TRUE pan african and independent nation and placed Doe in office.

Doenwas placed in office with the narrative "finally an indigenous liberian president". Doe was corrupt but then Doe started to back away from being Americans b*tch and then the US helped get Charles Taylor into office, Charles taylor however was a wild boy so there was no need to have him killed because there was so much dirt on him he is the ultimate scapegoat.

Even with ellen johnson sirleaf she was a symbol of female empowerment but she is legit on some mob boss steeze in Liberia when it comes to corruption and killing people off.

To be quite honest you will never get the true picture of Liberia and its inner workings from an article.

Liberia could have been the model for blacks but Liberia was never truly an independent nation. It was literally always Americas step child.

I think garvey could have maybe done good but he would have more than likely been sabotaged even worse being that he would be taking Americas proxy nation away.

:leon: details :feedme:....I've only ever seen the west parade her around and thats it. The closest to dirt I recall is local woman's group Sande Society being forced to suspend activities because foreign feminist were pressuring sirleaf.

Man if u only knew the stories. Like I said she is on some mob boss steeze, no need to pop wars off like its 1960. Shes the type of leader the west loves, I wouldnt be surprised if more African female leaders pop up. They are un assuming and dont let their egos make them get sloppy or actually think they run the show. African leaders of the past get put into power as western puppets but then theh start feeling themselves and think they really run the show and end up getting humbled.

And then lets not even talk about the natural resources. I was talking to my uncle about investing in diamonds and he was like "you dont want a problem with the jew boyz :whoa:"

I have a cousin who is jewish (his moms jewish, pops is my late uncle) and in the diamond game and its pretty sickening how outside nations literally are running a train on west africa.

yea something like that....there's a name they call them (can't remember) but it's basically saying they're "fugazi africans" ....which is :dame: considering it was former descendants returning back to Africa :dwillhuh:

What the hell are you talking about, West Africans don't care enough about Liberians to make up names for them, talking out your ass.

And to your edited questions

You have to realize Liberia is literally a western creation. Prior to Liberia being created the land was just different tribes that were already there and then the tribes who came as Mali began to decline.

In all reality Liberia is a figment of western imagination. And with Americo Liberians controlling the costal areas when became the "modern" areas indignous people were forced to assimilate the same way blacks in America had to. Now you did have the tribes of the interior who stood their ground and were already fairly advance and not "savages". The issue of course with the bad deals was the greed of man. Chiefs selling stuff to fatten their pockets.

Liberians used to be arrogant like who ghanians and nigerians are now because back in the day Liberia was the place to change. Ever since the nation fell from its place as one of the premier nations now the other nations that have come up talk junk.
