The question is. Do you really believe Herman is the answer? Even with this win, I still question him. That loss to SMU was terrible. I really feel if Strong gets another year we can win the big 12 next year. Especially with Buchele having a full off season with Sterling's system. I kind of feel like we are starting over with Herman, and wouldn't be shocked if we only won 6 games with as coach.
I'm not a big fan of Gilbert, I think the offense would be on point with Herman. His resume speaks for itself. He's also a superior game day coach to Strong. No time management errors, he makes 2nd half adjustments, and the kicking game isn't a clown show. I'm also impressed with the defense. They play downhill and they hit. That's my biggest issue/surprise with this year's UT team....tackling has deteriorated since 2014.
I don't fully believe he is the answer, not if he doesn't bring his DC with him, but no question he gets his teams up for big games though, and the OU and Louisville wins out shadow the loss to Navy and SMU. If can finish the season without another loss this should be a done deal. I agree that our team will be much better next year, but do you really want to take that chance if you don't have to? What if next year is another repeat of this year, Herman is then off the table, and then we would really be looking at no real replacement for Strong. You gotta go Herman now while you can.

From what I'm reading. It seems Strong will still be retained if he wins the next 2 games. And possibly still if he loses to TCU in a close game. Doesn't seem Herman's win last night has had too much impact on Strong's standing with Texas.
