peterson seems so laid back I doubt he wants it. Dude stayed at boise for years even though schools like usc, ucla were dangled in front of him, and only hopped to washington when the bcs crumbled and he makes good money there anyways.

shyt we are forgetting about Ol' Chippy

Damn, I gotta admit. Seeing Herman lose to Navy, almost lose to Tulsa, and now getting his shyt pushed in by SMU, makes me think we should pass on him. He may not be the real deal. Who else is out there we can go after? And NO to Les Miles.

herman is like most hot shot coaches in small conferences, houston schedule last year was a joke, lousiville had a down year, and even the "top 25" teams they beat memphis, navy, temple games were home games in houston and none o f those squads are powerhouses, that win against florida state was really the only quality win, and they only won cuz fla state had 4 turnovers.

This year they beat a oklahoma team week 1 probably the best time to catch a power 5 team before all cylinders are running, and the only two oother quality teams they faced navy and smu they got merked

Herman doesn't have anywhere near close to the resume Charlie had before we hired him. Herman was a huge risk, one people were willing to take as long as he took care of business this year, and I don't think he has. Maybe a big win against Louisville will turn the tables but the chances of that happening are slim to none.

In regards to candidates, Peterson would be a good choice but like @Reinscarf pretty much said, dude ain't leaving the NW. He isn't chasing after that next big gig or money. But you still throw money at him and make him say no.

But I think we may take a look at Harsin, but I honestly do not think he'd be successful here, I wasn't a big fan when he was OC.

Fuentes at VaTech is another interesting choice but like Herman his resume is light.

I wish Babers was tearing it up at Syracuse so we could give him a look.

Petrino would be a good choice but I don't think we'd hire him due to the personal issues.

Then you have guys like Whittingham, Macintyre, PJ Fleck etc...

This isn't a good year to be in the market for a coach.

thing is majority of those coaches you named will be in the same situation strong is in 2-3 years from now. The way the big 12 is, it's hard to have success year after year, the 9 team round robin makes it so difficult esp with all these explosive ass offenses.

I said this name before and I'll say again why not dana holgerson?
still in his 40's, can win in the big 12, can recruit, offensive genius and suddenly made a pact with the devil and is running a defense that is stopping high powered big 12 offenses

Nah we can do better than Dana. Petersen will say no, but may as well offer him 8 million a year and see if maybe he breaks. I don't know who we can hire. We might need to stay with Strong one more year and see how 2017 shakes out. Either Strong turns it around in his 4th season or we destroy and rebuild :to:
