Dam I was hoping strong was the one. Did he just never have it. I don't get the fall off. He always has the look of being lost on the sidelines but I try not to read into to body language. Not gonna lie though when he said after the Cal loss that maybe it was because the team didn't wear suits on the flight :dwillhuh:I was pretty much done believing:mjcry:

thing is majority of those coaches you named will be in the same situation strong is in 2-3 years from now. The way the big 12 is, it's hard to have success year after year, the 9 team round robin makes it so difficult esp with all these explosive ass offenses.

I said this name before and I'll say again why not dana holgerson?
still in his 40's, can win in the big 12, can recruit, offensive genius and suddenly made a pact with the devil and is running a defense that is stopping high powered big 12 offenses

Dana isn't welcomed here. Its well known dude is a drunk. Should be noted they haven't actually played anyone yet but if the defense keeps it up, we'd gladly take his DC

Les Miles ain't coming here as HC, maybe defensive coordinator.

I'm getting less and less impressed with Herman every week.

Not sure who else that is a viable option is out there.

If no Herman I'm inclined to let Charlie get his 4th year instead of firing him and hiring someone we will have to fire in another 3 years.
:mjlol: The offenses & QBs at LSU were always so consistently mediocre under Les Miles, people really think he's a defensive-minded Coach. Les Miles was always an offensive assistant coach before he became a Head Coach. He's never coached defense.

I was just going to ask

do we even have a chance to beat Tech on the road? :francis:
I said this in the game thread...

Playing Texas Tech on the road is the equivalent of playing Cal on the Road again. With how the defense has been simplified, the secondary is not gonna be making the same mistakes as they did in the Cal game. I expect Texas to win the Tech game.

We got Texas Tech, TCU, Kansas, and West Virginia left. I have a feeling TCU and Tech will be the toughest games. Tech might drop 800 yards passing on us :snoop::to:

I'm watching highlights of this Texas Tech at TCU game:

:dwillhuh: How da fukk did these 2 bad Big 12 defenses shut each other offenses down in the game? The score going into overtime was 17-17.

I think we'll beat TCU at home too. They don't have a physical power run game like OU, K-State, & Baylor to punish us on the ground. They're just a finesse Outside zone running team. Kenny Hill's passing stats aren't impressive. 13 TDs, 10 ints.

I still contend they are close. The clock mistakes coach makes just kill me though. I bet the Dline is beast next year, which would change the whole look of the defense and give some confidence. Someone is going to inherit a team that is ready to win and they will look like the savior unless Strong wins out

There wasn't a clock mistake in the last game, if Baylor doesn't score no one cares about the TO, if he doesn't call TO and Baylor scores then people are up in arms why he didn't call TO when he had one in his pocket and his defense looked confused.

If you watch this team you can see they are on the brink of being good to great, they just aren't there yet. I'd say 2017 would be the year but I honestly think its 2018. The 2015 class was good, but the 2016 class is on par as well. When they are juniors and seniors it won't matter who the coach is.

Right now I'm back on the "Keep Charlie" train. Since he has taking over the defense I think they have played pretty well, and that is with him playing players he shouldn't have to play so much, Bonney, Haines, Cole, specifically. But he has stocked talent on this team, he deserves one more year to try and see it through, regardless of our final record this year IMO. And I mainly feel that way because there isn't a homerun coach out there that we can hire in the offseason. I don't think Herman would do any better than Charlie has.

My thoughts exactly. It was a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. I rolled my eyes when I saw folks bytch about that timeout before halftime.
