Eric just now

Well, I switched my long held stance on Hudson in the scoop with new information coming to light, man.

How freaking huge was that January visit and Hudson getting to meet the new OL coach? I guess we'll see but there would be no chance to land him without that visit.

Baylor :snoop:. With all that's going on, do they really want that bad PR as well as having to explain to the NCAA why they aren't releasing these kids. They keep thinking they have a good relationship that will smooth things over, when they should be worried about people going to jail.

"The father of Copperas Cove OL JP Urquidez says he was told during a sit-down meeting with Craig Jackson of Baylor that no recruit would be given a release until/unless the player "met with" new Bear coach Jim Grobe. Urquidez offered to meet with Grobe immediately but was told Grobe was unavailable.

Well, Grobe met yesterday with Parrish Cobb, a blue chip cornerback from Waco La Vega who wants out of his LOI.

According to someone with knowledge of the meeting, it was intimated to Cobb's father by Grobe that Grobe did not have the authority to give Parrish Cobb a release, that Cobb would have to file an appeal."

"The family of top-rated Baylor recruit Devin Duvernay on Thursday told ESPN that the wide receiver is free to sign elsewhere after being told by the national letter of intent program that the university never submitted his NLI paperwork.

Duvernay, ESPN's No. 3-rated wide receiver in the 2016 class, had been seeking a release from his NLI after the sexual assault scandal that has rocked Baylor and cost coach Art Briles his job...

...According to NLI provisions, Baylor had to file Duvernay's letter to the conference office within 14 days of the final signature, otherwise the NLI would be deemed invalid.

Henry Duvernay discovered the error while attempting to submit his son's release request. He was unable to access Devin's account with the NLI database and reached out to Baylor and the NLI office for their help.

Henry Duvernay told ESPN that Peal looked into the situation and determined Baylor did not send in Devin's signed NLI.

"She said Devin is not in the system," he said. "She had her people verify that, and he is free to go."

do y'all think we're going to run a three headed QB system this season, and how many games do you think we take?

I think Buchele starts until he loses the position by bad play or injury. Based on last year, going with 8 or 9.

"National Signing Day for the 2016 class is more than four months in the past, but that didn’t stop Texas from making a big addition to its haul in June.

Four-star Sachse wide receiver Devin Duvernay committed to Longhorns on Wednesday instead of attending Baylor, where he committed to sign during the recruiting cycle, according to ESPN's Gerry Hamilton. Duvernay will enroll at Texas' for the school's second summer session, per Hamilton.

A 5-foot-11, 195-pound speedster, Duvernay is Texas’ fourth wide receiver signee in the 2016 class joining Collin Johnson, Reggie Hemphill-Mapps and Davion Curtis. Duvernay visited Texas and TCU while pondering his decision.

Duvernay initially signed with Baylor, but he asked out of his National Letter of Intent following the sexual assault scandal that rocked the school. Many Bears asked out of their LOIs in the same timeframe, but they are not allowed to visit or contact other schools until their appeals to be released from their LOIs are ruled on by the NCAA. However, an error committed by Baylor in filing Duvernay’s LOI – it was never submitted to the NCAA – allowed the wide out to sign anywhere.

Rated as the No. 4 overall wide receiver and the No. 36 player nationally in the 2016 class per the 247Sports Composite, Duvernay can be an immediate-impact player for Texas. Duvernay will line up in the slot, providing Sterlin Gilbert’s new offensive system a burner at the position.

Duvernay’s twin brother, Donovan, also signed with Baylor. However, he has not yet been released from his letter of intent. It is expected Donovan will join Devin at Texas if/when the release is granted."
