There were some European transplants but that was in the later eras and only in certain places. Washington Post is just sensationalizing.

I've been reading up about the immigrants in Ancient Egypt, and around the end of the middle kingdom era (1640 bc), there was an influx of Palestinian immigrants.
Who were the Hyksos?
They even Ruled Ancient Egypt concurrently with other dynasties for a bit before being taken out of power, but as I understand it, many of the immigrants remained.
So, just like if America were Excavated 5000 years from now, bones with dna matching any number of ethnicities could be found. However, we know who the originals are. You can't dig up bones from 1996 and say these were the Americans.
Further still, this study is flawed because they used a very small subgroup of sub-saharan Africa as a sample to show a lack of "African" (Where is Egypt Again?) dna in the mummies. How scientific.

We know the ancient egyptians traveled, and we do know that slaves came from different parts of Africa, so how can you say as fact that we have no lineage to ancient egyptians?
