Na
Tony had pull in Jersey but he knew he couldn’t pull that boss shyt in NY or the black “areas” of NJ. Dude was obviously connected and had cops on the take but was constantly ducking the feds while he was in his own damn town.
I wanna see a movie where the mob tries this

That’s the genius of David Chase at work, if you notice Tony got more and more selfish and demented as the show went on in an attempt to get the viewers to turn on him, by ssn 6B Tony was such an evil degenerate prick that no one was on his side anymore.

This is interesting. Can you break down how they were able to pull this off? I know Power tried doing the same thing with Ghost in season six, but by that time, it was too late and he was surrounded by far more unlikable characters.

There's people out there that can explain it far better than I can but the basic gist of it is, in the earlier seasons Tony was a lot more endearing, a lot of the shyt he got into and the beefs he had were based more on the malice of other people(His mom, Uncle Junior, Richie, etc), his crew loved him, but as the show went on he started killing off more and more of his people, he started committing more and more selfish acts, breaking rules and just doing downright despicable things until season 6B where he's just a straight up unlikable sociopath. His probably only endearing moment in season 6B is when AJ almost kills himself.

Look at the difference between how him and even Carmela argued in the earlier seasons as opposed to the later seasons

vs

One of the theories that I believe to be true is when Melfi is reading up on sociopaths in I think the final episode and finally comes to the realization that Tony has been using her/charmed her and is a sociopath who will never get better, that it's sort of a realization that the viewer has come to after all this time

If Corrado had never been arrested, would he have ran things much different than Tony? I think it would , he would have done a better job. Old school, just like Phil.
Tony was boss even when Uncle Jun was boss, the professional relationship between Tony and Uncle Junior is funny because it's kind of like a mirror version of Vincent Gigante and Fat Tony Salereno

Where Fat Tony was the front boss, that was presented as boss to everyone but everyone in the organization knew Vincent Gigante, (who was pretending to be an insane man that wandered around in a bathroom muttering and being crazy(much like Uncle Junior, he even actually went crazy later in his life too apparently) was the actual boss of the family
