Michael was gonna kill him after he first betrayed him. Michael wasn't his father. He would kill anybody that turned on him because he understood that he had to avoid the mistakes of Vito. The reason his father was almost killed in the first place was because he didn't go scorched earth on his enemies. Michael wasn't going to make that same mistake no matter who it was.

Vito seemed to have more restrain than Michael

Vito couldn't even kill Carlo who was abusing/cheating on his daughter and involved in Sonny's death

Fredo got a bad rap. Sonny was easily the biggest fukk up in the family. Him speaking out of turn and loving the drug proposition during the sitdown with the Turk is what caused the assassin attempt on his father and the entire war. Not to mention his temper led to him getting played and gunned and clapped up quick at the toll booth. And to think that he was next in line after the Don:mjlol:

Pretty sure as soon as Fredo revealed he knew Johnny Alo & old man Roth, Michael knew he had to go...

Maybe the family could have stuck Fredo in a club in Spain or Italy as a manager and allowed him to live but I guess since he betrayed Michael for personal gain that he’d eventually grow resentful again and get played again.

that "I got passed over" & "you're my kid brother" are the two biggest indicators that Fredo couldn't have been kept alive...he'd get jealous and vengeful again and make a move

on top of that they tried to hit Mike at his crib where his wife sleeps and his children play:mjtf: Fredo wasn't family after that off gp

For Anyone that has read the book...are there any details as far as Fredo’s death is concerned that the movie leaves out? Or is it pretty much the same?
Got to re-read it. The book was definitely good but on some other sh*t as well. A lot of Johnny Fontaine and oddball sh*t like talking about Sonny's d*ck size:dame:
