Yea, those days were mean. I used to wave at this Arcade in downtown Newark and I used to have to be careful who I took out in Super Street Fighter because, you might piss off the wrong thug and end up getting stomped in the alley next to the military apparel store

yeah luckily my parents knew what was up with arcades so the arcades I used to frequent was more of the family friendly ones. I had a local video store that had mkII and rainbow edition on deck that I used to go but it was civilized. Never ran into those types of situations in person but you would hear on the news on in the paper about a kid getting beat up,shot, stabbed, stomped at a local arcade

I always loved playing co-op games. You would start out in Time Crisis by yourself, some random dude would pick up the other gun and start playing with you. You didn't know each other before, and my never see each other again. But @ that moment in time, you had each other's back like you were blood brothers.

breh, the Chuck E. Cheese on Michigan and Telegraph STAYED having fights up there over shyt like tickets and prizes....

Worst i ever seen was this place in a detroit suburb called "the Butterfly" that had ALL the A1 fighting game cabinets. I played this one cat in Capcom vs SNK2 Terry/Kyo/Ken team was giving him the beats....he then tried to throw hands cuz Kyo perfected him WITH a Dramatic KO :fire:

the scrap spilled over into the parking lot...most fun i ever had in a fight in my life.
The Butterfly was always ghetto as hell, but shyt would be good times. I was never really worried about shyt there though. I would take bytches there cause they stayed open late and go kart racing and a few games was pretty cheap back in the day. Remember they would always be carding nikkas after like 9 or 10.

Anybody from the D remember the name of that arcade that used to be by the school center buiding near Wayne State and DIA. I remember that would have all the new games, and generally their buttons weren't all fukked up like the cabinets at the laundromats and coneys. Nothing worse than getting your ass kicked because the fukking block button don't work or your player can only move one direction cause the stick is broke.

was so nice at street fighter II (OG and Turbo) the dealers would put money on me when they were in front of the store hanging out. they'd throw me $50-100 at the end too (LOOT for a kid used to pulling in $20 a week for allowance).

lol. i had to tell them not to threaten dudes i was playing so i could win clean.

It was amazing.

One day your playing xmen with 5 other dudes (sometimes one chick who uses up all her super moves ) the next day your watching some random Asian guy pull off a 8 game winning streak on street fighter.... then somehow someway you walk out of the times square arcade before dudes get robbed
and thier pockets ran.
