Yall seriously didnt enjoy skating / dancing / whatever with background music like this?
They didn’t really play this in NYC rinks, especially the Empire in Brooklyn and the Skate Key in the Bronx. Maybe the one in Jackson Heights Queens. I forgot the name, USA I think.

bear in mind i was a small child when it came out but... it was very popular but that style of music aged fast. it going out of style with some audiences was not due to the song being corny but because all urban music started needing a harder edge when gangsta rap exploded. dance music started segregating and groups like that would never really be able to thrive again.

But its definitely a corny song. But it was a huge song in that history in time so :yeshrug:
