I don't remember anyone calling it Corny in 8th grade. It was a popular dance track during an era when house parties were still common. Wasn't one of my favorite songs, but I would have been the odd ball to speak out against it.

In that day you had nikkas listening to hip hop like BDK, Rakim, NWA, 2 Live Crew...

And then you had people who weren't really in the hip hop culture who would listen to this song because it was forced.

You couldn't put this on at a house party you'd get clowned. You could put this on at a cookout with your aunties and uncles and they'd do some corny dances.
