I wont disagree.....but at the same time, he is only a 2nd year player.

I mean did people really expect he was gonna come out and top the beginning of his rookie season? He came out the gate throwing for 400+ yards a game.....did ppl really expect him to starting throwing for 500+ yards this year with little to no defenses finally adjusting? :comeon:

No sir, not at all.

Panthers are a bad team, this is fact. But his attitude and demeanor while the team is losing does nothing but make himself an easier target.

That and people are insinuating that all of this is a sign he'll be a complete bust.

That's where the cism comes into play. White QB's are given a decent amount of time to develop and their critiques are always qualified with "It's just his Rookie/Sophomore season". If you're a black QB you better hit the ground running and you better not trip up at any point.

That's how it is for Blacks.

It's also different for Cam, because he had a tremendous amount of success in his 1st year.

So when you go from superstar QB in your first year, to falling off in your second the whole "Give him time to progress" thing is a bit confusing.

Look @ Josh Freeman, he's black and I don't see anyone really shytting on him and he has struggled.

You guys need to look beyond just black and white, Cam is on some manic depressive shyt that's why he is getting all this negative attention.

And that sweater too

I guess the defense is:

- the Rams have never shown the necessary promise during Bradford's tenure

- last year was the first year that Stafford actually put up the numbers (but the story was Calvin Johnson mostly anyway)

- no rookie QB had ever put up the numbers Cam put up last year & busted through the league like that

- people were expecting the Panthers to be the surprise team of the year (maybe the expectations were a little forced/over the top?)

- Cam's attitude isn't helping

Warren Moon's onto something though...

Weird how Rivers and Stafford can fall off and get a pass while Vick, Cam and Cutler get shytted on dam near every week.

I think this is what people don't understand. Romo, Eli, etc can have shytty seasons or bad play and still get a mulligan. They will get some heat from the media(warranted or not) but the main difference between them and their black counterparts is that their job is never, ever on the line because of bad play.

Vick's job is on the line.
Cam is projected to be a bust now.
A 30 year old Vince young is completely out the league along with David Garrard and McNabb

Yet, Matt Cassel's been a starter for 4 years
Hasselback still has a extremely well paying job
Brunell hung around until he was 50 as a backup and got paid a couple of million to hold the clipboard.

See how this works

And to be clear, it's not that Eli, Romo, and other guys don't get criticisms, but it never veers into that area where people start saying their complete busts.

seriously tho where are all the people bashing stafford ? this is a guy who was said to be near top 5 for that performance and has the top WR in the game. and this is a guy whos in his 4th year and whose stats are bad, especially if you subtract garbage time stats.

I think cam deserves *some* of the criticism, but the media is waging an all out war on him. like I say, football became a ridiculously reactionary sport, partially cuz of the media. they were on his dikk last year, now they hate him. how retarded is that ?

Check the Lions thread. Nobody is happy with him and like I posted earlier, that hack Peter King did call him out this week.

Can is much more visible and popular than Stafford. Which of the two has been all over TV in commercials over the past year? It sure as hell wasn't Stafford. The more well known name will always get more criticism.

shyt, just look at the Yankees flameout. All you heard about was A-Rod, A-Rod, A-Rod, even though Cano was their best player and was even worse in the playoffs. Swisher and Granderson too, but you rarely heard about those guys.

Let Cam throw 4 picks in a game and that shyt will be like he slapped a baby. The media would go ham and what is with this Cam is so conceited thing? Is Aaron Rodgers conceited for the championship belt celebration?

And to be clear, Eli won the SB in his third year and Romo was undrafted I believe so how could he be a bust?

Calling Cam is a bust is retarded though, and whoever is doing so is just one of those who wanted to see him fail in the first place.

People still ignoring my Josh Freeman post though, there's a black QB who has avoided criticism. What about Tavaris Jackson still having a starting job in 2011?

Charlie Batch is a black QB and he's been a backup in the league for about 50 years now. So there's your black Brunnel

The players mentioned (McNabb, Young, Gerrard) are awful examples used, and they're all out of the league for good reasoning. McNabb doesn't want to be a backup, Gerrard's knee is shot and VY is a headcase for years and started that dream team fiasco.

Criticism from the media is one thing but i do not beleive coaches pick qb's based on race all they care about is saving their own ass and will play the guy they think gives them the best shot to win

Doesnt mean they gonna make the right decision but they aint gonna pick a white qb over a black qb just because
