Exactly.

Moon went through this shyt while he was in Houston and they ran him out of town. I was extremely glad when the Oilers were getting their asses kicked during the '94 season.

Its deeper than that breh...Moon been going through since HS. When he was getting recruited, colleges wanted to convert him to a WR. When he was at University of Washington winning the Rose Bowl against a favored Michigan team, still no respect. When he went undrafted in the NFL draft and forced to go into the CFL for many years to prove himself again leading his team to 5 consecutive Grey Cup champions :ohlawd: before coming to the Houston Oilers.

Yep.

The Oilers signed him in 1984 while at the same time Earl Campbell got traded to the Saints because of Ladd Herzeg not wanting to give him a new contract and also because he was 29 and had a bad knee.

Jacksonville was eventually handing the reigns over to Gabbert anyway, Garrard wouldn't have last more than a year if they kept him. Plus it saved them 9 million.

Oakland's head coach at the time was familiar with Palmer and Jason Campbell got hurt. I think I remember the raiders starting last season pretty well until Campbell broke his collarbone and dude tried to bet it all on Palmer revitalizing his career. He got fired for making that dumbass move anyway after the season.

Troy Smith was a fifth-round draft pick. I'm sure he'd be around if he were taller.

Can't explain David Carr. your guess is as good as mine in that regard.

I'm not saying that the leash isn't shorter(although Jimmy Clausen probably thought the leash was short too.) but you have to admit that there are other circumstances that factor into why these dudes are in/out of the league.

Don't question #JerrydaGawd

This thread is hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. The ignorance and bias of people is showing up in spades in here...

All I'm gonna say is this... there are very few Panthers fans out there... very few. Yet you have ALL these people in this thread wanting Cam to win... I wonder why. :heh:

Yet that same group turns around and says the media is bashing Cam using racial undertones (and yes, a lot of the judgment now has to do with him being black, not all of it though). It honestly goes both ways.

Since Cam is on a rival team in my team's division, I couldn't care less if he develops into a great or not. Good if he does, oh well if he doesn't. He'll be out in Carolina in a few years anyways. :jawalrus:

Cassel, Alex Smith, Kolb, etc...are all similar QB's. All starting. But yet I gotta make a case for Garrard to get a sniff? :why:

Actually the Dolphins brought in Garrard this season and he was lined up to be the starter (Over Matt Moore who played good last year) until he got injured.

AND?
WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH HIM NEVER HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY FOR A STARTERS SPOT AGAIN
IN HIS CAREER?

WHEN YOURE BLACK, YOU CANT BE A DECENT STARTER...
YOU GOTTA BE A STAR OR YOU WONT BE STARTING 3 YEARS FROM NOW.

SAME shyt WITH CAMPBELL & VY.

Campbell was only a decent starter for years, and same with Vince Young.

stop trying to instigate Race wars.

those two played more years as starters than they should have.

shiiit, there are white qb's that have way shorter leashes than those dudes.

I mean Leinart was a champion in college, won tons of awards incluing the Heisman and can't even sniff a starting spot.

why is that? his skin color sure ain't helping him, his past accolades ain't helping him.

maybe...just maybe....the fact taht he's just not that great on the NFL level is keeping him off the field.

so why wouldn't you think the same for any other qb(black or white)

but he's still in the league..at least from my perspective that's the way I view it. Lord forbid if an African American QB had the career Leinart has had, he'd have been out of the league 2-3 yrs ago and playing in Edmonton. Look at someone like Tebow who has NO business whatsoever being a starting QB has a longer leash than most QBs whether they are Black or White. Hell, they even made Scott Frost and Eric Crouch change positions. Name a black QB who has been giving as many chances to fail as Alex Smith? Do you think a non-white QB would ever have a rag to riches story like Kurt Warner??

there are a lot of black qb's that have been given chances and are even still in the league getting paid.
shyt, Tavaris Jackson is still gettin paid

Byron fukkin leftwich and charlie batch are still playing

Tebow ain't have a long leash?? sure he gets lots of media attention but he hasn't even thrown a pass this year, ain't he ain't the starter, nor was he ever mentioned to be one.

as for Kurt Warner, how many WHITE QB's other than Kurt Warner have gone through that?

you can't just name isolated incidents and generalize them like they happen across the board with all white qb's.

there are plenty of white qb's that get tossed aside jsut as fast if not faster than any black qb. but they don't stand out as much to "you" as the black qb's do because there aren't as many of them.

I do find it strange that Jeff Blake wasn't able to latch on to a team as a back up or at least 3rd QB.

Same with Quincy Carter. If Kerry Collins got another shot after all the sh!t he did early in his career, I felt Quincy should have as well. Same with Anthony Wright. How the hell did he just fizzle out of the league?

I mean let's be real, black QB's have shorter leashes. There's NO way you can disagree with that

Hell if Kyle Boller hadn't retired, he's STILL be on somebody's roster and we all know he sucks azz
