That black QB was cut for a journeyman just a few days before the season started. Alex Smith is starting, man. Matt Cassell too. Flynn got a mega deal off of 1 game.

And he got benched for a black rookie qb after a decent pre-season.:snoop:

The jags had Gabbert waiting though, the thinking was to play Garrard until Gabbert was ready probably the whole season. but Garrard Played horrible that preseason damn Mccown damn ouplayed him lol, so i guess they didnt want to pay him. It was found out later that he was playing injured. None of that had anything to do with his skin color.

and would you replace Alex Smith with Garrard? or Leftwitch? Im thinking if a team wants to upgrade at QB, they wanna make sure its a marginal upgrade. Or they draft one. but thats just my opinion :manny:

Bruh, they decided to go with McCoun who was absolute trash...so they rushed Gabbert. How's Gabbert looking right now? The Jags were at least relevant under Garrard.

All I'm saying is black QB's have always had a shorter leash. It's clear as day to see.

It's not about picking Garrard over Alex. It's about picking McCoun over him..that shyt is ridiculous.

Threads like this prove that 90% of Coli posters are CRAKKKAS. No self-respecting black man would deny the truth of racism against Cam Newton.

Cam Newton had the greatest rookie season ever and crakkkas were still criticizing him. Now he's playing average and his team sucks and the crakkkas are coming for him even harder.

fukk YOU fakkit ASS CRAKKKAS in this thread supporting those racists.

Alex Smith being able to start is luck more than anything.
Cassel had people cheering when he got knocked out of a game
and I'm pretty sure scouts were looking at Matt Flynn before that Lions game(could be wrong though).

Sure they could have gotten a guy like Garrard or something but would that have really been making progress? With guys like Garrard you already know he's an average QB, no sense in wasting money on him when you already have him on the roster.

Cassel, Alex Smith, Kolb, etc...are all similar QB's. All starting. But yet I gotta make a case for Garrard to get a sniff? :why:

Do you honestly believe a coach would choose a qb simply over color and not who he THINKS will give him a better chance to win and keep his job?

I dont care if the coach is a card carrying klansmen his first thought is to keep his job and put in who he thinks is better

Subconciously? Yes. Just like a coach may give a black RB more of a chance than a white one.

Getting Garrard would be a lateral move for most teams. You'd be better off investing in an incoming prospect from the draft.

You think those organizations are satisfied with those dudes at QB? I'd wager that they aren't but what would be the sense in going to get a dude like Leftwich? So you can end up like the Seahawks did with Flynn?

That's not the point, bruh. Why are they even starting? You talk about lateral moves...yet Garrard got tossed for JOSH MCCOUN! Campbell go tossed for CARSON PALMER.

That leash is short no matter how you slice it. David Carr's still in the league, breh? Troy Smith is playing arena league football.

Take a look at the comments section.

Those fools think they're more qualified to tell you what racism is or isn't more than WARREN MOON!!!

:smh:

Exactly.

Moon went through this shyt while he was in Houston and they ran him out of town. I was extremely glad when the Oilers were getting their asses kicked during the '94 season.

Leftwich was cut in favor of another black QB though... :beli:

Plus his attitude in his last weeks in Jax was questionable....

AND?
WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH HIM NEVER HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY FOR A STARTERS SPOT AGAIN
IN HIS CAREER?

WHEN YOURE BLACK, YOU CANT BE A DECENT STARTER...
YOU GOTTA BE A STAR OR YOU WONT BE STARTING 3 YEARS FROM NOW.

SAME shyt WITH CAMPBELL & VY.

That was more of a money thing though, Garrard was avg at best here, we pretty much were ready to move on as a fan base. You probably didnt hear much of an uproar after the jags released him. They probably felt like his contract was to large to justify just benching him, plus his preseason performance was Terrible, he didnt do much to help himself out. And ya, Gabbert has been bad, but we wouldnt be in much of a better position with Garrard... maybe going 8-8 for 2 years before having to reboot anyway.

IMO Garrards leash wasnt short in Jax, he was on the Jags for a while before he was named starter, he isnt a young developing player. Everyone pretty much knew what he brought to the table and it wasnt going to be enough to compete for superbowls....

other QBs i cant speak on as much because im not a fan of their teams and i cant keep up with whats going on. IMO VY didnt get a short leash, Vick didnt, McNabb seemed to be unfairly treated.

I understand that racism is still out there, but we need to quit using that shyt as a crutch!! Sometimes the shyt really isnt that deep, you do bad, you may get criticized for it....

As a Jags fan, I agree with you man. The Jags literally got rid of a top 15 QB to start Josh McCoun. Josh McClown, the worst fukking QB to suit up for the Jags, even worse than Jamie Martin. Garrard got so much shyt for being an average QB on an average team. They got rid of Garrard before JDR and Gene Smith is still here. That's why I don't doubt Moon's words. I seen it myself. Black quarterbacks are on a tight leash, I personally witnessed this shyt here in Duval twice. Leftwich didn't even really get much time to develop. And we drafted him to develop him, so what the fukk?

It was like a day or two before the season started man. That shyt is ridiculous. I've never seen that before.

It's just weird though...I've never seen black qb's get chance after chance like others have.

Grossman started last year. Rex fukkign Grossman. McGruber was handpicked by Shanny to start. JT O'Sullivan was handpicked my Martz to start years ago. That type a shyt just doesn't happen with black QB's....

lol @ the crutch comment. Negro please.

Jacksonville was eventually handing the reigns over to Gabbert anyway, Garrard wouldn't have last more than a year if they kept him. Plus it saved them 9 million.

Oakland's head coach at the time was familiar with Palmer and Jason Campbell got hurt. I think I remember the raiders starting last season pretty well until Campbell broke his collarbone and dude tried to bet it all on Palmer revitalizing his career. He got fired for making that dumbass move anyway after the season.

Troy Smith was a fifth-round draft pick. I'm sure he'd be around if he were taller.

Can't explain David Carr. your guess is as good as mine in that regard.

I'm not saying that the leash isn't shorter(although Jimmy Clausen probably thought the leash was short too.) but you have to admit that there are other circumstances that factor into why these dudes are in/out of the league.
