There has to be somthing to the fact that teams come out after halftime and look completely different and pounce on us over and over
This has to be some bad adjustments going on cuz it happens over and over
Feels like a coaching issue
Dude, why are you expecting roleplayers and journeyman to be consistent players?
It’s not a third quarter thing, you have a team that’s pretty devoid of sheer offensive talent getting game-planned for. When you got “cog in the machine” offenses like ours where it’s a different player going off, after teams figure out where the hot hand lies then they start scheming to make whatever player is hot.
Basketball is about runs. We lack the explosive firepower needed for runs and we lack consistency for our players. Spo’s trash rotations don’t help but we’ve been plagued with turnovers all damn season and that isn’t Spo.
Been this way for years no matter the personnel. The offense is always especially bad after halftime. They just stop moving the ball and stop moving without it the second half of games. Every time too. It just doesn’t make any sense to me that this sort of this happens so frequently. Last year I think it was 29 different games where the were outscored by 8+ in at least the third or fourth quarter, and it wasn’t uncommon for this sort of thing to happen in both. After 11 years this shouldn’t be such an issue. I get that the roster is lacking in talent and has it’s share of overlapping skill sets, but the team should have some sort of identity on offense. I rarely see more than 1 person move without the ball on a possession. I haven’t seen a ton of games this year, but even in the ones I’ve watched, it’s a constant problem.
Teams tend to form identity based around their stars. How can you form a decent offensive identity with your best offensive player injured, your new young PG learning the nuances of running an NBA offense, and a bunch of Swiss-at knife players that are ok at some things but not great at anything that have fluctuating roles due to injuries?
We’re a defensive minded team but 3-4 missed defensive assignments can lead to a game being a double digit lead in the blink of an eye and then your offense struggles more.
