All other bullshyt aside and speaking strictly from an artist's perspective, the cover on the right is god awful. Terrible composition, it's like the photographer wasn't going for anything and didn't know how to capture her personality. Her clothing, the set pieces, the lighting - nothing compliments anything here, it screams "here's your photo, damn!" and that's it.
