I wanted to get into superfoods so I just googled for smoothie recipes. It all depends on what you want in the smoothie.

if you have a facebook, sign up to young and raw. They give you daily smoothie recipes.

I'd say try my smoothie out. Make sure your apple juice does not have high fructose corn syrup. Or, if your apples are extra sweet, you can pass on the apple juice.

And as far as protein, stick to your eggs, fish, chicken, nuts (:shaq:), and lean beef. Get yourself a jug of whey protein isolates and you'll be good. Make yourself some bars as well:

The vitamix is awesome. Don't let anyone even try to compare their little Walmart blender to it(and they will).

All those ingredients I listed before, but I just added a little more of the protein packed stuff. A good 3-5 months with this and I'll be nice. :ehh:

You still using the generic blender? A Vitamix or Blendtec will take that and put it in the stratosphere. I would tell you to cop a Nutribullet, but frankly I don't know if it could handle all the ingredients you had listed. How much comes out when you blend? Like 24-32 ounces?

Yeah, but it's not gonna be able to handle it much longer. I'm gonna try to put the stuff in little by little instead of all at once.

Ironically I woke up early this morning to a Nutribullet infomercial and it looked interesting but I'm thinking I'll go for the Vitamix in a few weeks cuz I'm gonna be making different smoothies for different times of day and they'll have lots of superfoods. As far as how much come out, about 45 oz total came out from this last batch but that's only cuz I upped the measurements on some shyt.

As far as how it tastes, yeah it can be unpleasant at first but as soon as you swallow it there's a peanut buttery aftertaste but there's literally so much shyt in the mix that you taste all types of things. All that stuff is excellent for your body and overall health that's all I know. Usually I just use it as a mix, I'll fill a cup half way and mix it with some kinda milk(cow, soy, almond, etc.) and a little sugar/honey to mask the taste.

Good call... If you got about 45 oz of smoothie on deck, a Vitamix would be your best bet over the Nutribullet, even though the Nutribullet is cheaper. I have a lot of my smoothies come out to about that much too, although I try to use more liquid cause I don't like mine to be too thick (pause).

Spending hundreds of dollars for a blender is ridiculous unless you're ballin' line that. Just get the nutribullet.

No it's not. If you plan on making a huge amount at one time, multiple times a day, A Vitamix is not a waste. Especially factoring in that there's all sorts of other healthy eating options you can do with it.

Some things are worth paying money for. Try making your own almond flour in the nutri bullet or being able to blend up fruits whole and have it come out as smooth as yogurt. There is nothing like it and it's not even that much money and I'm far from balling.

There's no way to put it breh. Spending 4-5 bills when there's a cheaper alternative for less than 100 bucks seems common sense to me.

I'm not knocking the Vitamix, it's definitely the truth but you'll be damned if I spend that much on a blender on steroids.

I blend fruits whole, even straight out of the freezer. I blend almonds, cashews, pretty much anything I throw at it. I never cared for almond flour but I did make some almond milk and it came out fine.

$500 isn't that much money for blender? :stopitslime:

Not to me it's not but it's also a professional product and has a lifetime warranty. So I guess I don't mind the cost for the value I'm getting. I paid mine in installments and it was like $84 a month for 5 payments. If I wasn't paying for the vitamix, I would have blown that $84 on something else,

If Vitamix ain't have a payment plan I wouldn't fukk with it. But since it got that, and I'm gonna actually use the shyt I figure its not a bad investment.
