That's the one I got. I like the fact that it has a really large pitcher. I always end up making like 48 oz of green smoothie. Never tried anything other than smoothies and protein shakes, though. Not even ice cream shakes.

My parents own a 500.

I picked up a used 4000 off of eBay about 5 years ago. It's a little funky looking. And the aluminum container isn't the best to see exactly what the fukk is going on in there. But it works almost as well as my parents' brand new 500.

Consumer Reports suggests getting the Ninja blade system as a cheaper alternative to the Vitamix. You can read reviews on Amazon and see people compare it to the Vitamix as well.

i got the ninja,do not waste your money on the vitamix

what are you using in them, my nikka? Some veggies have a more overpowering taste than others, like celery. I generally stick to kale and spinach, using sweet fruits like banana and pineapple. If you have a Costco in your area, go on the vitamix site to see if they're having a demo show. Good place to soak up game on recipes and stuff.

I smell you. It is somewhat of an acquired taste. Don't worry about using too much fruit. I put mad fruit in mine, and I also make sure its real cold. Use frozen fruit and ice cubes. And try using stevia or agave nectar.

I was the same way. I wasn't able to get it just right at first, but I was noticing how my body reacted to all the nutrition, and in a weird way, that helped me with drinking them. Doing intermittent fasting I only have 2 or 3 meals, so if one isn't a real tasty one, I ain't tripping. Plus it helps keep a nikka full.
