I'm a bit of a Triple H fan but Russo got a point here.

There is too much focus on the least important aspect of wrestling which is the wrestling itself.

Where are the storylines which can draw the casuals? For example, when is the last time we had a miscarriage angle? Terri and D'lo?
A miscarriage angle is going to get booed out of the building today. Also Russo doesn't have a point, because the WWE just now started focusing on the wrestling part a month ago. The people clamoring for the Russo style Attitude Era to return, are the same people who smell like Cheetos & ass crack.

There is no casual wrestling fan in 2022 and there’s nothing you can do to create that again. He’s trying to catch a special moment in time where wrestling wasn’t niche.

Yeah that’s true. So much so that wwe is running stadium shows full of hardcore fans.

ya'll love this lie

there's so many people that watch wrestling on and off whenever they catch it and not to the weekly obsessive degree that we do.

same way there's people that catch NBA games when they can and follow hoops loosely, and people who obsessively watch daily, know every player whether it be in the league, overseas, in college etc. and tweet about it endlessly.

casual fans will never not exist in every form of entertainment. Every wrestling fan isn’t some super passionate dedicated fan like us message board nikkas.

It's ironic that they hate each other so much, because they're the exact same people. They're both 2 out of touch white guys who want things to go back to their favorite decade. :pachaha:
Cornette, bro, Cornette is right a lot of the time, bro, even if, bro, he's wrong a lot of the time too, bro. But bro, Russo is always wrong, bro.

Nah Bischoff different than the other 2, he hasn’t become insufferable, he just calls it like he sees it

Doesn’t seem bitter tho

I personally would like to see him come back to WWE as a GM or manager

He definetly does not and hes had non partisan people on his Pod tell him so (when he tried to get that network exec to bury AEW and he gave all these reasons why its actually a desirable product as is explaining the very finances that he claims they didnt make )

Casual fans watch wrestlemania and then turn it off the rest of the year. If that.

On a scale from one to ten how full of shyt do we think Russo is? :russ:

On that scale, he's about a 548,003. Not only is he full of shyt, but if a shred of this was true, he'd be low-key ethering himself given how garbage the product was during the time he claimed to be consulting.

For example, when is the last time we had a miscarriage angle? Terri and D'lo?

Dogshyt idea from a dogshyt poster.

that doesn’t explain why ratings fluctuate up and down throughout the year

AEW has hit 1.4 million viewers before, usually hover around 900k and every so often does over a million depending on the card. That alone tells you there’s a group of casual AEW watchers that circulate in and out. Thats literally a casual fan. It doesn’t mean they’re completely ignorant to the product. It just means they aren’t regularly watching.

It’s these companies job to turn that casual viewers into a regular viewer. Keep them coming back for more than a week or two

I feel like a lot of you confuse the term casual and think it means people who absolutely don’t watch pro wrestling..

A casual viewer is literally any viewer that isn’t a regular weekly viewer..

The guy who used to watch wrestling in the golden era, still keeps up with it but only watches a few times a month (if that) and might take his family to a show or two if it’s in the area… these are casual viewers. Again, it’s WWE’s (or whoever) job to turn that casual viewer into someone that will watch weekly and not just once every blue moon

All 3 had great ideas in the business. All 3 also had terrible ideas that showed that time had past them by

All 3 have peddled that into podcast/shoot careers with cult followings and just blowing wind into any direction about the current business with surface takes that will get clicks from both their critics and cultist fans

Best not to take too serious at this point
They are all one trick ponies that didn't know how to adapt or reinvent themselves.
