Victor Wembanyama is playing away from the basket, and I am concerned.

Why am I not surprised as soon as Wemby starts playing well and looks the part, y'all don't wanna talk about him. Y'all only wanted to talk about him when y'all perceived he was playing bad.

That's why NBA discourse is in the state it's in.

Y'all never wanna talk about shyt unless y'all can be negative about it.

He's playing really well, perhaps more so given that he's been dinged up a bit recently.

It's strange that he's in his 2nd season and everyone else on the team needs to catch up to him in terms of production.
He's still developing but his teammates seem to have a much longer way to go.

42 points is impressive and I didn’t watch last night so I won’t say too much..

But damn.. 15 3pt attempts ??

I legitimately hate his game and have lost most my desire to watch bro play

I missed the game. I got caught up watching the Chargers and Broncos.

When I made this thread, I had concerns that Wemby was being passive or potentially marginalized by playing away from the basket.

I think now, this is more of a strategic and developmental decision by Wemby and the Spurs.

Watching the games, I can see how his perimeter threat opens up space and opportunities....not just for others but for himself.

When a dude can pump fake a 3 and get to the basket in 2 steps...that's crazy.

Yes he took 15 attempts cause who TF else on the Spurs can consistently shoot?

Breh a 7'4 video game character and you nikkas want him playing like Al Jefferson

I think you should watch the game (or at least the highlights - they're posted above).

He had plenty of shots in the paint, and even had multiple possessions in the post too. He cooked Capela on an up-and-under. I don't understand how anyone can hate his game. He can literally do near-damn everything on the floor. Spurs even have him being the ball-handler in PnR because of how gifted he is as a playmaker.

He's done some otherworldly things on defense too, like no-look blocks and purposefully letting guards drive on him so he can shadow them and swat their shyt at the rim.

We're witnessing one of the true game changers and nobody is really paying attention other than Spurs fans.

I think it's safe to say Wemby was a must draft pick at #1 :troll:

He's so good he made Gobert irrelevant on Team France back in Olympics.

The question is who do the Spurs sign to help him make the playoffs run. Western conference is not easy. Tim got lucky when Spurs found two excellent draft pieces in Tony and Manu. Can they repeat some if success in the draft again with lower picks?

That’s an interesting point, Ima try to catch their next few games to peep how they’re looking.

They play the knicks on Xmas and my sixers on Monday. shyt, if any of these lower level resale seats dip over the weekend, I might try to make it out to Wells Fargo to see it in person

Basketball games are too expensive man.

I've been telling myself: this is the year I go to a Knicks game to see them play LeBron/Curry/Wemby/Whomever.

But MSG prices are insane and I just can't justify the cost. The tickets. Getting into the city. The time commitment.

Maybe I'm just too damn old.

Nawww bro, the shyt about the hassle and prices is so real!

I’ve had some home improvement shyt and had to get a new car so haven’t made it to any games this year

But I stay on ticket master and it’s crazy how it varies from arena to arena. Even the driving/parking experience can make or break it.

Like yo.. I got fam in FL so I sometimes look at Heat tickets and I’m like fukk no.. no way I can justify going to a game with my fam out there. So I know MSG must be crazy

I’m in MD so Philly and DC is close by, even when the sixers are doing well.. day before, day of the game a lot of those resale tix in rows 3-8 dip into that sub $300 range. I’ve even got vip seats in that range before. It’s a smooth drive, the parking is a breeze getting in and out. And I’m cool with seeing teams like the Magic or the Hornets so it really can work out even if the warriors, lakers etc are still a bit pricey.

But Compare that to the wizards bro .. for how trash the wizards consistently are, the ticket prices are crazy! I hate the traffic.. Parking is shyt! Takes fukking forever to get out of Capital One arena garage. If Philly wasn’t also accessible, I probably wouldn’t go to many games at all.
