Ok.... this album fukking sucked to me. I've been rooting for Vic since INANETAPE and he's always been a good rapper. This album is no different from a pure rapping perspective. But sonically he is all over the place. Its like a very weird blend of poppy synths + either r&b or rock-sounding hooks + some cool beats but not very interesting ones. And even though he's still rapping his ass off, I feel like once you've heard 2 or 3 Vic songs, you've heard 'em all... I fail to notice any differences between these tracks and the 2 EP's he dropped before this. He's rapping about the same things with the same flow, voice, themes, stories, feelings, sounds, etc... At a certain point some of it also gets a little too angsty without breaking any new ground artistically.

The intro track, Homewrecker, Heaven on Earth, and Wings are all good and focused compositionally. Rest I deleted

Vic's got a lot of potential. But the identity issues and lack of artistic focus are concerning.

I listen to these songs and know he can do much better:

The fact this wasn't stickied as soon as it dropped is crazy. Vic has come a long way since his first tape, and his sound has changed so I can understand if some OG fans don't care for some of the songs. This is honestly a non skip album though. ALOT of these songs hit home, and the production is out of this world. Alot of these songs could be hits. Honestly this is my favorite album of the year.

I've been following him since Innatape and I disagree. This is a good project. It's better than the EP he dropped a year or so ago. You're also the only person out of 70+ posts in this thread to call this album trash.

Finally someone who listened to the same album I did.

He was definitely spitting throughout this jawn especially on the first few tracks. But musically it was all over the place. I've been checking his music on and off since Down On My Luck and he still has the same flaws imo. Too much "different for the sake of different" shyt, using a bunch of sounds flowing THAT well on any, trying to bend genres but it comes out sounding like ass etc.

Content wise I feel where he coming from on a bunch of these joints. Especially the intro, he was coming from the soul on that one. but this album is a chore to get thru fr. Still got the last 1/4 of it to go.

I mean, are you really feeling these weird rock-pop hooks :ld: I feel like if this is your first time listening to Vic you might be reeled in by his MC skills and some of the melodies but if you've listened to those 2 EPs and this, you're pretty much over that and expect something more focused and realized
