, Vegeta hit him with a Ki blast and the fact he was able to harm him pissed him off. Goku didn't land a hit...... and regardless of that Goku admitted Vegeta was stronger

Is the movie poorly written? Yes so is the entire series
also Toriyama himself was hands on with the movie and is canon to the series so you can care or not it's canon

We can't have a coherent debate because the entire series is incoherent... In a sense it doesn't make a difference who's stronger between Goku and Vegeta because Gohan is supposed to be significantly stronger than both. The movie spits in the face of all of that having Goku say Vegeta surpassed him and having Gohan get sonned with one hit. But that's whay makes these debates fun Toriyama made his own series unbalanced and incoherent from a continuity standpoint.

Takes place between the Buu Saga and the World Tournament involving Uub.
It's supposed to be a couple years after the Buu saga and 4yrs before the last World's Martial Arts Tournament when Goku leaves to train Ubuu.
