One thing I never understood about that saga is how the hell did vegeeta not die with that super blast from goku that was strong enough to destroy a planet. He should've been toast with that one.

Please. Vegeta was getting his ass handed to him by Son Goku until he had to turn into the Ozaru (giant monkey). Vegeta is a chump. Didn't matter how much swag he showed. The only fight he won pretty handedly was android 19. Every other fight he was catching the beats on the regular. I dunno why you fools worship this loser.
He lets his people become goons under Frieza.
Has to swallow that infamous "sayian" pride Everytime Frieza was in the room.
Caught L from Yagirobe of all characters when he chopped of his tail
Had to swallow his pride and let Goku give Frieza the work while he died crying
Had to swallow that pride again when Goku and Trunk turned Super Sayian
Had to again swallow that pride when he found out Goku was holding back and could turn Super Sayain 3
And he finally gave up and told Goku he was the best
