You won't see them doing anything in hoops, track & field, boxing etc. Might be OK in judo/TKD or weightlifting in the smaller classes.

Plus they have 5x our population and train kids from elementary school on up. It's always America vs China for total medals but the United States tends to be competitive in a MUCH broader range of sports compared to any other nation.

United States is the only country that can go win a ton of medals in track, swimming and gymnastics. Most countries are lucky to be good in 1 out of 3. We are either #1 or #2 in each.

Makes sense with the amount of immigrants in this country, it's not really fair. Look at the racial makeup of American Olympians, definitely not representative of the entire country.
