All this drip on me
I tip. If the food/service is good why not show the establishment/servers my appreciation, especially places that I frequently go to.:yeshrug:

Tipping handsomely, is also a reason I haven't experienced a fukked up haircut since I was a teen.

Tip, you broke fukking b*stard.
Don't go out and eat if you can't follow basic social-cultural aspects of dining out in the Western world.
People who argue against tipping sound like Buschemi in Resevoir Dogs.

Know your budget before you go out to eat. If you can't afford the meal, then don't go or get a cheaper option. You should know what you're getting into before you order your meal. Having $20 on you and ordering a meal and drink not expecting to pay tip or tax. Gotta know what the business is. It's much cheaper to cook at home or even go somewhere else. Nobody making anyone eat out and tip.

You two seem to think this is about being able to afford a meal at a restaurant, which is not my angle. I'm asking why this is an accepted norm for restaurants but not for other service industries, so much so that restaurants depend on its customers to pay their workers directly.

If a person gives you exceptional service
That's subjective to a degree. And if a party of 8 hates the service and tips nada, it's effed up. Because 3 other couples that might love the place can't be seated. So now the server suffers because someone with no manners is a cheapskate. And cheapskates like that are probably 3/4 of the people that go to restaraunts, at least.

Don't be a waiter if you expect to make more than what your employer is paying you. Who are we to subsidize random people's income on behalf of their employer?

And lol @ people saying "if you can't afford to tip don't eat out.." but that's not even the issue. What's gonna happen if people stop eating out? Restaurants will close down and employees will lose their jobs. Is that what they prefer over not receiving tips?

it makes no sense and i hate it. which is why i tend to avoid restaurants or delivery. but i will tip generously in those situations, if just to help the next black person get better service.

I always tip delivery drivers when ordering food. Always wondered why its seen as normal to tip them but not a delivery driver who might deliver you something else, like something you ordered from Amazon or some shyt..maybe they make a better wage but its still strange to me

You tip a barber, a delivery driver, a taxi driver, and I'm sure there's others I can't think of right now. Waitresses just get the blunt of the anger for some reason. Guys will to their barber with no complaints but complain cuz of a two dollar tip when eating out.

Crazy think is some of those people come up something serious. My cuz was making hundreds night.

Another thing was stories I was hearing about what waiters would do(spit, semen, snot etc.)if you didn't tip them. This coming from a person calling others scum of the earth for not tipping.

I love these threads.

This is fine. If you want to tip for their service, by all means do so. The cultural norm of expecting a tip regardless of service in the restaurant industry is a little silly.

I mean I'm talking to dudes complaining about the service they received at one joint but tipping 10% like that will show them :francis:.

Most of those packages come thru delivery services and the driver drops them off and walks away and who knows if you'll even be home during that time. If it's not signature required, they won't even knock.

Nobody should be dumb enough to give a tip if the service sucks. I don't care if tipping is the norm. If your service sucks, you ain't getting shyt.
