I think we're taking away too much responsibility from the employer, especially when the entire republican economic policy is "trickle down economics." meant to benefit the business owners. Who are in turn supposed to pass along those benefits to their employees. But in this case (as well as many others) they don't. They are letting the consumer do it instead. and so those tax cuts on the wealthy meant to spur the economy ultimately amounts to nothing but further widening the gap between the upper and middle class.Im cool with tipping, think about it like this. You waiter/waitress will now have to perform to get a resulting amount. If they had base pay there isn't any incentive to give good service.
