If I had a family to feed and a mortgage to pay, I might have to. I can't say what I'd do today as I'm older and not in that position. But I have been when I was younger and just starting out out of college. I lost a good job and had to take some shyt I was vastly overqualified for until I could find something else.Would you take a job that you were unqualified for in a whole nother location?
I was a government contractor and the funny thing is although I was a total DEI hire I would be still at work had I not caught my case.
I lost my security clearance and you know what I did?
I took Yes for an answer and got 100% disability and my retirement check and got the fukk on.
What I didn’t do was try to apply for a job in my field that I was only barely qualified for.
Let me ask you since you have experience with the govt workplace and process: are most of the people being let go going to be able to do what you did? i know you were in the military, so i'm sure that helped with the disability and all, but what about people who may have been working for 8-10 years and never served?
