Most critics are complaining that it's not a Superman movie. It's an action movie with Superman plucked into it and you could pretty much interchange Superman for any other Superhero.

I'm guessing that this movie doesn't go into the Superman/Clark Kent/Metropolis/Daily Planet stuff much. So maybe that's what the reviewers are missing?

I never read anymore than the last paragraph or two of a review to avoid spoilers.

Man idk if its been said or not but if thats the complaint Im in on this. Ive never seen Superman go HAM on screen in the way I envision him going in. Miss me with all that daily planet, smallville, planet krypton stuff we know all of that already. If this movie is 20 mins of set up and the rest pretty much all of the trailer brehs:wow:

Never judge a movie by its trailers.

I have learned that the hard way in the past year. I went to saw most of the movies that I thought looked good in the trailer, and ended up being crap.

I never had any hope or hype for Superman. Sounds like they went the dumb action oriented route.

Will still see regardless.

So far Star Trek has been the best movie out this summer.

SUPERMAN RETURNS: 76% RT
MAN OF STEEL: 69% RT

So according to critics on RT, "Man of Steel" is worse than "Returns" I don't buy that. This is why I honestly don't use RT to decide if I want to see a movie. Their reviews are to inconsistent to me. They trash one thing and praise another that doesn't deserve it. As for the movie. Look Nolan only produced and wrote it and yes it's his baby but it's really Zack's film. Zack is like Michael Bay in the fact he makes great action and has a amazing style on film but his characters and storytelling are always lacking. This is why critics are mixed about his work. I liked "Dawn of the Dead Remake, 300 and Watchman" personally. "Suckerpunch" was weak but visually it was dope.

Zack can be a good director when he wants to. To read reviews of "Too Much Action". Are these critics kidding? You know how long I've been waiting to see Superman wreak shop. "Returns" had that lame baby momma drama storyline that nobody cared about. So I'm waiting till I see this before I judge. Critics sometimes overanaylze action movies. Now I'm an 80's baby, I grew on Reeves Superman. To me Superman I and II will never be topped so I'm not even going to put those expectations on the New Superman. I just want a good movie. But Donner still has the crown. Oh yea I'm hearing Hans Did pretty good but it's still not a John Williams Epic type score.

(Superman 78' is a Masterpiece. It's the Godfather of ALL Superhero movies. According to Box Office Mojo it's one of the highest selling Comic Book films in ticket gross. It adjust to over 500 Million at the Box Office. It made Christopher Reeves a household name. John Williams Score is still iconic till this day. Call it dated if you will, the movie still holds up till this day.)
