Some people think it makes them intellectually superior to shun reviews and go against the masses.

I think it just makes dumb financial sense. I'm tired of dropping $20+ on garbage that they put no effort into.

if someone things they will like a movie but the critics slam it then they should still want to go see it. When people waste money is when they look at trailers or read what a movie is about things it looks stupid, yet somehow comes up with an excuse to go see it. Now thats wasting money

real talk in the 2 years that my girl and I have been together we have seen 27 movies together, the only ones of those that are thought were garbage was the thing (her choice), cabin in the woods (her choice) and savages (moreso her choice than mine)

If you need RT to determine whether you should see this movie, one yaself.

Even if I go in and hate every single minute, I wont regret it. Best buildup to a summer blockbuster I've experienced in a few years.

Do you use user reviews in anything you do?

Because if you don't I bet you've taken an L or two because of it.

Wanting to use the collective wisdom of others to make your own decision isn't a sign of weakness...it's a sign of being smart.

You sound like one of those "you can't tell me nuthin" type of people. The same people who end up with a 52" Akai TV or a brand new pair of Nyke sneakers.

Bet that gets you far. :skip:

RT's system is a little inconsistent though. I've read "rotten" reviews that veered more on the side of positive and "fresh" reviews that seemed more negative.

looking through the bad reviews, a lot of them seem to be pretty on the fence and for whatever reason RT decided to put them in the rotten category.

also, I'm not the type to hate on movie critics, I actually value their opinions way more than the average person. but I don't think this movie really caters to them. remember, critics really liked Superman Returns and they don't seem to be as hyped for an action-packed and serious Superman flick as the fanboys are.

for most of them, the definitive version of Superman is the Christopher Reeve series, so something that deviates from that so dramatically is probably too much for them to really handle. this movie seems like it's more for all the people who were dying for Supes to finally throw a punch in a live-action film

but yeah, for films like this, I actually value the reviews on aintitcoolnews more, because they approach it more from a fanboy perspective than a critic's perspective

Yeah the negative reviews are kind of :stopitslime: because they aren't negative . They just seem like they don't really like the actual character of superman and want to see a ang lee style breakdown of a character . Superman is my favorite character but it seems like alot of people don't get him or think he's corny as opposed to batman .

Got me a six figure salary smart ass. fukk sheep.

I always listen to others, and take their wisdom into consideration. But my decisions are my own at the end of the day.

I've disagreed with so many of RTs reviews that I don't trust them anymore. Viewer score>>>>Critic score. Usually the audience is closer on the mark when it comes to action movies. Still though a 74% isn't bad but I want this film to be Dark Knight status so bad :noah:

After Earth is all that needs to be mentioned. I can think of about five film critics that are worth taking seriously.

I just called my man Harry Allen, the Media Assassin:

So these nikkas wanted a movie with a superhero who shoots lasers from his eyes, has cold breath and super strength to have little action :what:

I bet a movie with 2 hours of talking and 30mins of action would be in the 90s on RT

Them reviews not looking so good, y'all.

They keep going down:to:

fukk it, I'm still going to see it.

IMO, the first Transformers flick is a modern day popcorn classic...That shyt only got a 57%, but it entertained the fukk out of me(The next 2 was garbage as fukk, though)

I'm about to flip my mind into Transformers mode for MOS.

I'm not expecting no TDK shyt.....simply action and spectacle
