Do you really let reviews stop you from seeing something you want to see?
This movie could have a 4% on RT and I would still go see it.

I already know what to expect from the movies...so the rating is irrelevant...at least to me.

But we discuss everything here in this forum...

I get that and I was asking the question seriously because I am a bit of a odd case since I go to see damn near everything that comes out especially during the summer. So I am curious if dudes let a rating on RT dictate whether they go check out a movie or not.

I will say this...for certain movies Im really on the fence about..the rating usually sways me one side or another.

Movies like Man of Steel could have -8768723..just the trailers alone and the production put into it is enough for me.

I didnt want to see "After Earth" at all!

The rating just confirmed my suspicions about the movie.

I think the ratings are good....while some disagree....these guys see movies for a living so they have some insight....most folks dont even read the ENTIRE reviews....

Edit:

Having looked at some of these reviews it seems the consensus is "This is a thoughtful, intelligent take on the Superman franchise...then Zod steps in and it's just another action movie."

Most critics are complaining that it's not a Superman movie. It's an action movie with Superman plucked into it and you could pretty much interchange Superman for any other Superhero.

I'm guessing that this movie doesn't go into the Superman/Clark Kent/Metropolis/Daily Planet stuff much. So maybe that's what the reviewers are missing?

I never read anymore than the last paragraph or two of a review to avoid spoilers.

I saw After Earth just to satisfy my own curiosity about it but I get you. Certain movies I am just never going to want to see like that Interns movie or anything that Adam Sandler puts out but some stuff that I am on the fence about can be swayed by reviews from critics I respect. Ebert being gone drops the sway of reviews for me by a lot though.

Complaints seem to be either that its too dramatic for :cape: or that its bogged down by the rote of the avg blockbuster near the end :manny:

It seems like a lot of reviewers are mad that it isn't more like the Donner Superman (lighthearted with a bumbling Clark Kent) despite their pretty much hating the Singer version which was slavishly devoted to Donner's vision of Superman.

Who cares about RT. I liked After Earth and it has like a 12% at RT. I did not like Iron Man 3 and it has a high as rating at RT. RT is trash...
