Hold up...translate to English

This reminds me of when I go to parties and ppl come up to me speaking Yoruba

Can someone explain how the State totals are derived for the election results?

I'm seeing numbers such as 203/3/1/0 or 90/43/0/0. In a country of 200+ million, how or why are the total numbers so small for entire States?

Obi is putting up a good fight in Lagos, the south-south and the south-east. But it's not going to be enough.

When INEC starts to announce the results, just watch how Obi supporters will start crying. They are already making threats because the writing is on the wall.

Based on my analysis below, I expect Obi to be the next president of Nigeria.

Advantages

Tinubu
  • Muslim-Muslim ticket to galvanize highly populated Muslim north to vote based off of religion
  • Verifiable track record as governor of Lagos for those who vote based on competence
  • Nigeria historically not correcting election atrocities (rigging, killings, voter suppression, voter manipulation, etc)

Atiku
  • Shares same ethnicity with large number of highly populated northerners who vote based off of ethnicity

Obi
  • Verifiable track record of high character for those who vote based off of character
  • Verifiable track record as a successful governor
  • The high voter turnout scenario that he needed happened as he is the sole reason why many first time voters have joined the fold
  • Kwakwanso eating into Atiku and Tinubu's northern votes
  • Objectively, the general consensus preferred candidate according to several credible pre election polls

Disadvantages

Tinubu
  • Not generally seen as physically and mentally fit to lead Nigeria
  • Backlash from running on a Muslim-Muslim ticket in a country that is over 40 percent Christian
  • Generally regarded as corrupt and a criminal
  • Running within APC who owns the failure of the last 8 years
Atiku
  • Failed to unite PDP
  • Generally seen as corrupt
Obi
  • Igbo ethnicity
Only one flaw for Obi??? You forgot to add Failed Presidential Candidate.

Isn’t that first account a Tinubu shill? I’ll take anything from him with a grain of salt

Nigeria has 36 states.

Each state is divided into LGAs (Local Government Areas).

Each LGA is divided into Wards.

Each Ward is comprised of PU's (Polling Units)

Most of the votes being posted on Twitter are coming from the individual PUs and wards. Some units/wards are bigger than others.

All the unit results will be added to get the final Ward results. All the Ward results will give you the LGA results. All the LGA results will give you the winner of the state.

Please note that most results being posted online should be taken with a grain of salt, including my own. INEC will start to announce official results by 11/12pm CT.
