Celebrating the government shutting down the app is not the move. This ain’t about tik tok or china getting our data at all. It’s all about regulating information and social media. Same with the porn bans that are starting to pop up. We are heading for some scary times in this country.

I can almost guarantee if we see his investments, there's meta stock in there. Tik tok is competition to his own social media(truth social) and its keeping his meta stock from appreciating. He won't want tik tok to stay unless one of HIS people whom he's sure is 100% going to follow his orders buys it, otherwise he might change the law so he can buy it.
A more sensible president would ask NPR to buy it and turn it into a public service moderated and controlled by a collective of computer science professors and government employed software engineers.
Those tech staff being laid off could be put to work helping the government and tik tok can be a tool for the government to send important updates to people.
Instead we have a revolving door of private industry to government so politicians are acting in the interests of big business instead of their voters

This is the real reason why it's being banned. No one cared about Tiktok until the real footage of what Israel is doing to Palenstine started surfacing. Never before in history have we been able to see a genocide on documented video the way TikTok has captured it. Until TikTok Israel had the narrative about what was going down on lock. Their lies could not compete with live footage. This type of documentation topples regimes and the US cannot have people on the ground controlling the narrative. People can write the app off as encouraging brain rot, but it's just propaganda. There's Tiktok communities for every discipline, subject matter, social issue. Prominent scientists, lawyers, historians, musicians, artists, politicians, and everything in between creating their own content and spreading their own knowledge and I think it scares the shyt out of the government.
