This isn't unpopular at all, the WM12 Iron Man match is possibly the most overrated match of all time

A better discussion would be which Iron Man was better out of Rock/HHH or Angle/Lesnar

Wrestling's popularity was on the downward when Hart and Michaels had theirs. If you remove the Rock and Austin from that era no one would give a shyt about an iron match with HHH.

The crowd response to the verdict proves that HHH was the biggest heel in wrestling during that time.

A popular face can make anyone a good heel. A great heel can make anyone a good face. HHH was hated because he was facing the Rock and that crowd reaction was for their love of the Rock not their hate for HHH.

Not an unpopular opinion, you're just stating a well known fact. The more that I think about none of the Bret/Shawn matches were really ever that good or stood out to me and I don't know why. I know someone will bring up their Montreal Screwjob match, but that match was just a lot of fukkery and at this point we all know why it lives in infamy. Their best match might be the ladder match that they had on the house show circuit and was prominently featured on that WWF Most Unusual Matches VHS tape.

I can’t find any promos leading to the HBK/Hart match

like I know HBK won the Rumble but I can’t find any footage that shows why they added the iron man stipulation

Bret and Shawn had a ladder match before Razor and Shawn did. It was okay. My fav Bret and Shawn matches are the ladder match, Cage match and the one where Bret and Macho Man went against Shawn and Flair.

I think they faced each other at SS 3 times but I can’t remember the first one

Triple H was a jabroni. Just a muscular body to throw against whoever the top guy was.

Jeff Jarrett’s bum ass probably would’ve been a better top heel if he was booked properly.

There was no story line to the Bret/Shawn match. This match was when they both got along. It was just the top 2 faces wrestling.

Not a unpopular opinion. I definitely agree with Rock vs Triple H being better. Hart vs HBK was boring until like the last 15-20 minutes.

And before anyone says I can't appreciate long matches, the Steamboat/Flair matches that happened in the late 80s that went close to an hour are some of my favorite matches and were better than all of the WWE Iron Man matches.

Story of Rocks career...
And story of HHHs career..

I don't remember Rock ever having a substantial run as champ..
Won at survivor series 98, defended it at 1 ppv then lost it on a raw to Foley.
Won it at royal Rumble.. lost it again at that halftime empty arena shyt.
Won it back in a ladder match the same month.. lost it next month to stone cold.
Won it at backlash 2000, lost it right away at judgement day..

Won it no way out 2001.. lost it the next month at WrestleMania.

Won the coveted WCW belt.. lost it almost right away to fukking midget jericho

Made him look weak af:snoop:

I seriously hate HHH
That's how it was back in 1998-2001. Titles changed hands rapidly. Austin losing to Kane and gaining it back 24 hours later, Rock and Mankind trading the title back and forth in early 99, etc.

What?!

Austin held it from WrestleMania 17 all the way to December 01 (gave it to Kurt for like 2 weeks when a ppv was in Pittsburg)

HHH held it from Jan 2000 till April 2000... Won it back in like June and held it until they gave Kurt the belt..

Rock never got a run like either of them two..
