Since the shooter is still on the loose, I'm ruling out terminal cancer patient. If he was terminal and got denied, he would probably turn himself in on TV just to testify in Court.

I'm going with, father of somebody who got denied. He must have saw that Denzel movie

funny/sad they pretty much scrubbed that film from the public consciousness and the one where he's a Falklands vet who get's f'd over and goes out shooting

a little too close to home and uncomfortable for the powers that be I would imagine

You can feel the seething anti establishment sentiment in a story like this. wow. The reaction to it.

of course social media is the main thing, but this story wouldn't have this kind of reaction in 2007.

people are rightfully angry, only the ultra wealthy are truly immune from the horrors of our health care system

I happened to go on fb yesterday or today and even star trek or star wars meme pages were mocking it

In that I also learned the company's average deductible was 10k or some crazy shyt

I think the anger a bit misplaced and murder isn't justifiable

the real shame to me is that even after this congress won't act and conservatives who are equally affected won't demand more

The issue isn’t profit making. It’s denying people life saving care to further increase profits.

God damn you bootlicking hard as fukk.

So... after the CEO gets shot, a couple of websites take down the C-Suite pages of Executives. That shyt is not going to help because there are folks within the same corporation who doesn't buy into the Corporate Mindset; here is the CEO, this is what he looks like.

While executives should rot in jail, instead of getting off easy... this whole shooting is just reinforcing that CEOs are not special people, piss someone off so much... there will be a bullet on your name on it.

The point of insurance companies is to collect premiums and not pay out if possible so they can make money.

Again single payer would have a point of providing health care for everyone. A for profit publicly traded health insurance company doesn't exist to save lives and help people it exist to enrich shareholders. They're not paying out if it can be avoided.
The point of a slave owner or overseer was to brutally oppress and deny basic humans rights and freedoms to their slavers to maximize profit and output of their plantation.

Just because the job of a slave owner was technically legal pre emancipation and the job of a CEO for a for profit health insurer who denies people of life saving procedures is also technically legally doesn’t absolve the fact that the people who chose to make money in those roles are morally bankrupt and evil.

I wouldn’t be able sleep well at night knowing my decisions as a CEO were leading to the mass death of people due to denial of health coverage for profit.

The system we live in is about maximizing shareholder value. It's not about making some money it's about making all the money possible to make. This isn't about ethics it's a business model applied to many different businesses including health care.

We need a single payer system that primarily exist to provide care rather than to drive high profits. Health care should be government provided as a basic right and not a publicly traded for profit industry.

I'm not bootlicking I'm pointing out the real problem. That CEO is a cog in a machine and when the part breaks another will be plugged in to continue operation. Killing him simply ends his life nothing else really changes. The company will operate much the same with a new CEO.

The irony that’s lost on most people is that most of the people that are celebrating this and hoping this sparks change, voted against universal healthcare when they voted against Hillary.

Even better. If you ask them if they want universal healthcare today, they’ll explain it away :snoop:
Repeat after me: If you are not wealthy in America, you vote against your own interests.

:snoop: can we stop repeating this dumb shyt, it has no basis in reality and its a big reason how the wealthy have amassed as much power as they have.
The wealthy have amassed the power and wealth because we vote in their interests, not ours.

If we want to change shyt, we have to understand that the least we can do to participate in the civic process is to vote. We need to be on these people’s asses 365 (Or 366) days a year. Pick the candidates we want, hope they win and be on their asses again.
