I'll raise my hand and say I was one of guys that criticized the modern product/wrestlers for being lames in real life. I think there's an element of truth to it, but at the same time..... it's missing the point.

partying and drinking vs playing video games is a false dichotomy. One, I don't see how video games are any different than playing dominoes or cards, or whatever the fukk Taker did back in the day. Two, you've either creative or your not. Mick Foley, to my knowledge, never really drank or partied. Even Rock, I dunno how many stories there are of him out to the bars all night.... but no one can deny those guys were creative, interesting guys and their work reflected that. You don't need to be a big unhealthy, dead by 50 style drinker to have good ideas.

I do think the product sucks in comparison today. But it has nothing to do with the guys being soft, or gamers. It has everything to do with the lack of creativity, part of which is caused by Vince's excessive micromanagement.

edit: I will add that the "too pretty" comment he made is spot on. The show is way over produced and clean. Some grit to the actual look and feel of the show would go a long way.

Thing is though, y'all are kinda jumping to conclusions thinking he's okay with partying & drinking too. Y'all gotta remember Taker was born in '65. Dude was 20 when NES came out. He probably has a stigma that video games are some shyt only kids do. Even though he's wrong, he prolly views Domino's & Cards as "real nikka" activities while video games is some brain rotting shyt only autistic dweebs care about. Generational disconnect :yeshrug:

People shocked he's a right wing fukko is pretty weird. He's a rich white guy in his mid 50s from Texas. Of course he's a Republican and of course he's a thin blue line guy. Why the fukk would just kind of assume Taker must be somewhat of a progressive because they enjoyed his entertainment career :mjlol:

Undertaker wasnt shyt for pretty much the second half of his career but he right here
That's not true his first 21 years were fine in the wwe and he had several before that obviously. It's wild when the most loyal employee of the wwe shyts on the product that's all you need to hear :mjlol:

:mjlol:Mean Mark being a MARK as usually. Look I admire wrestling from those times and agree that wrestlers are flippy floppy divas nowadays, but lets not pretend that 80 percent of the roster from that era are dead, while the 20 percent are either in jail, broken to high hell, or doing indy shows at a high school gym for a hot dog and pain killers.

Yes, these wrestlers are wild goofy but at least they are TAKING CARE OF THEIR FAMILIES and PROUD TO GO HOME during breaks.

What a fukking business I swear:francis:. Who would want to continue to live like a paranoid dope dealer with a gun around your ankle and tape around your knuckles all for the love of something that's fukking fake:mjlol:

The real problem is they are not as charismatic. They don’t have the life experience to pull from to make a layered character.

most of them were nerds growing up and only was ever into wrestling. And the others were models or something. The excessive drug use and partying is not necessary but these dudes are not in the streets at all so they don’t experience life outside of wrestling.

This thread is interesting because i lurk alot and never post in here simply cuz i dont watch enough of the product now because it doesnt keep me entertained and the "charmisa" feels manufactured.

i think some people holding mark being a MAGat against him but there was facts in what he said.

but my theory is alot of this generation corny AF their personalities have been built off of others BS personalities (instead of being themselves) plus trying to touch on the social media hot points occasionaly.

Its also not soley on the wrestler. in fact think creative just is flat out uncreative, too hollywood and the product is TOO POLISHED. anytime i watch nothing really feels organic. as a matter of fact speaking on video games. The E right now feels like vince is the user in a wwe 2k fantasy land.

no one is expecting every act to come and be rock/austin/hbk out the blocks. but THEY want them too and force shyt into places where it doesnt need to be(YET!!)

its funny because we live in a era where we have access to everything and at a certain level you can be ubersuccesful being PG or R and still have large market cap.

to us old heads who are late 20's+ ...as far as i can see we probably wont ever get that Rawness back. and too be real this is a entertainment issue music, film, everything. too busy trying to recapture and get numbers instead of being original and organic. the former is in theory the easier route

Too polished is bullshyt. Lucha Underground was the most most polished wrestling show ever on American TV and the small audience it had loved it so much. It sucks because there's no creativity and when they do get creative it's this trash with The Fiend and Bliss. The problem for 10-15 years now is not the talent or production but just bad, tired, stale, or embarrassing writing and programming.

So it’s the wrestler’s fault the current product has no edge?

Not the twenty five soap writers they have coming up with shyt before it gets torn up and rewritten by 75 year old Vince?

Was Roman saying sufferin succotash a talent issue or creative issue?

Why the fukk would you be upset that coworkers aren’t bringing guns and knives to work anymore:russ:

Seriously the amount of the talents are nerds that why the product sucks like most of the actor and actresses and musicians you love are not nerd/cornball is suck a cop out excuse.

How is a 70 plus year old man post to write for Sasha,Bayley,Asuka,Seth the list goes on without allowing them to have any real input at all.

You have Yes man and people who write to keep Vince happy over wanted to actually put on a creative show. Vince pretty much break his writer and bend them to his will. What the point of trying to create something and putting your heart and soul into it if your boss is going to just throw it in the trash and rewrite the whole thing. Don’t Vince & Steph have the motto of eat shyt and like it

How are guys and girls post to get over when Vince wants WWE the brand as the star not the actually wrestlers
How are guys and girls post to get over when the company barely try’s to create characters/gimmick anymore
The only way the talent can get over is with there in-ring work

Undertaker breaking kayfabe and deciding to talk more has ruined his whole aura to me. He's one of those people that was better off being seen, not heard. :hhh:

I'm telling you, this older generation hates the fact that the younger generation is smarter about the business. They're not a bunch of ugly white dudes with missing teeth from podunk towns in the south getting into bar fights and using racial slurs indiscriminately. They're actually trying to have a life after wrestling where they can be happy and healthy, with money saved up so they don't have to come back every year and take up space for shytty matches that nobody wants to see.

But they're not "manly men" with nine hip surgeries so they're not doing right by the business. fukk Undertaker. :unimpressed:
talk that shyt, breh :salute:

Putting all of this together in this way, the clouds opened up. That is the honest truth.

The irony of The Underboomer giving this interview is that, if he'd done it back in the day with some of the "real men" (read: psychopaths) in the locker room, they would have come to see him about it.

So he's not even living the shyt he's rapping about either.:manny:

I'm not encouraging elder abuse, but if one of the nobodies from 205 was willing to risk it all and give this washed old b*stard the hands, they'd make themselves a super legend :sas2:

I saw the botches from the Saudi tag and the Roman match. Dude can't even fake fight anymore. Double leg takedown and his replaced hips turn to dust. :mjlol:

Knowing how much Vince values shyt like that, it's 50//50 as to whether he fires the guy on the spot or gives them their own Mania streak.:lolbron:
