they don’t wanna have that conversation.

Us golden era/attitude era kids pretty much had the idea of wrestlers dying young normalized.

Live hard, live fast die young is fukking stupid. Was then is now.

these cats have better coping solutions and are setting themselves up for life after wrestling not needing the WWE to survive.

There’s a long tailed reason why they wanted to cut off that twitch money and more importantly the visibility and LEVERAGE building your own platform gives you.

What are you talking about, video games are for pussies :what:

Real men do a plethora of drugs, while jacked up on steroids, cheat on their wives then either die in their 30s or age 1000 years and be broke :troll:

I always find old heads like Taker to take a small bit away, as there is some truth but mostly grumpy men shyt.

In terms of Wrestlers being soft itself, I think Wrestling has become in a sense more athletic-based and less generic per se. Now with that though, part of what Taker says is true about Internet Feedback, as I feel there are just too many 'spots' to entertain a crowd.

Daniel Bryan can work a crowd without it.

I think Gimmick matches have become so much of a norm, like Hell in a Cell, that its just a gimmick now.

Now its very typical to have Wrestlers in their 30's be the Main Eventers, however starting with The Rock at 27, WWF really started to hot shot young wrestlers in the Main Card. Randy Orton as well. Now that doesn't mean that is bad thing, but you've broken the formula and not allowing a Wrestler to really find themselves as a character.

Which leads me to the last one, WWE's product is way over produced and the formula is generic, which is on Vince as specified in the thread already. Taker has some points, but not everything is correct as Wrestlers will be living longer because you don't need HGH/Steroids as also indicated in this thread.

But Wrestlers do these stupid spots at time that scream 'LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!' just so WWE will call them up. Which isn't entirely bad, but it does take away the fun aspect of the Wrestling at times.

Undertaker breaking kayfabe and deciding to talk more has ruined his whole aura to me. He's one of those people that was better off being seen, not heard. :hhh:

I'm telling you, this older generation hates the fact that the younger generation is smarter about the business. They're not a bunch of ugly white dudes with missing teeth from podunk towns in the south getting into bar fights and using racial slurs indiscriminately. They're actually trying to have a life after wrestling where they can be happy and healthy, with money saved up so they don't have to come back every year and take up space for shytty matches that nobody wants to see.

But they're not "manly men" with nine hip surgeries so they're not doing right by the business. fukk Undertaker. :unimpressed:

Yup. What I took away from the main quote, he's saying alot of the wrestlers don't know how to work and he's right in some regards the storytelling and working the crowd. Especially the older guys working and passing down knowledge on how to work, like what was done in previous generations. But this has been a problem for a good 15-20 years/anyone who came after the 4 Indy Kings, Bryan, Punk, Joe and AJ. But he is also has to shoulder some of the blame for that, when it comes to the never ending false finishes and kicking out of finishers.

While the men is men quote is poorly executed and cringe. I think he means people characters and personalities outside of the ring. It's all rather bland and boring. Which isn't a bad thing, it's better than being the POS of the bygone era. TBH is anyone really surprise and shame in you for expecting a different answer from an old white man from Texas.
